All hands meetings should be short, motivating, aligning and lead by the CEO (some exceptions). If you are not doing them, you are probably missing out on a good tool.

Breaking news: Wow. Official word from Germany on the rumble (more like thunder already) we've all heard approaching... internetstores of wiggle/crc/fahrrad/bikster/probikeshop, is bust. First of all, I want to extend my best wishes to all of the crew I know in these entites who now face this wave of uncertainty. Also to past clients I've helped launch products into these accounts. Of course, giants fall - but this was an entity shops worldwide used to buy from due to national distributors being unable to compete. The presence and power this entity's (currently owned portfolio of) stores wielded in the 2010s, seemed like they had permanently grasped control of the global market for many brands and even entire p&a categories. These shops are steered by capable and astute hands. We're living in wild times. I haven't seen or read the filings, so I too am yet to discover whether this is mainly holding issues, or mainly (obviously not self-solvent) retail issues. An uncomfortable truth is that list-it-and-they-will-come, High inventory/ low margin models are powerful... until they arent. Strategy wise, this makes you admire how Amazon used its jugernaut brand power to move from owned stock to rented stock hosting of consignment and marketplace listings (seperate from any judgement calls on the model itself). As for what will happen between today and tomorrow. Will we see a stabilisation of internetstores... or (another, bigger) tsunami of discounted bankruptcy goods flooding the market? Another liquidation sale will hurt UK and EU soft winter sales deeply, and entites like deporvillage and retail inn have already taken ownership of enough marketplace to replace the wiggle/crc group as the go-to best-price entity - the role they play will not cease to exist. Interesting, volatile times indeed.

"𝗔𝘅𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗡'𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀" 🚀Wow, the news hit this morning during my round of jogging. I need to pause for a moment and feel 3 things: #joy, #gratitude and #excitement. 3 years with Axel Springer so far, we always push our limits to the next ones. But: nothing extraordinary comes from playing it easy 🏃♀️ FRAMEN's international relevance was recently recognized by the international advertising association IAB, which ranked FRAMEN as the only German company among the leading players in the MENA region. The expansions in Great Britain and France have already been successfully established with our own subsidiaries. With an inventory in over 24 countries and a reach of 200 million people, FRAMEN is focusing on tactical expansion.👉 What's next:PRODUCTSMore #entertainment, more #AI. The current investment funds are driving technological innovation at FRAMEN to integrate new features and improve our user experience. We are also placing great emphasis on expanding our ecosystem, including streaming, entertainment, #DOOH and #CTV. We will continue to develop our own AI tools, both for content creation and Dynamic Content Optimization (#DCO) tools.PLACES We are continuing our #expansion. The initial focus is on Spain, Italy, Poland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, with 10 more countries being targeted. The focus is on countries where revenue has already been generated without locally based teams and where there is partnership inventory from #hotel chains and #coworking screen providers.PEOPLE Cherif Rouissi, who has been Head of DooH Sales at Axel Springer's marketer Media Impact for the last three years, has taken over the position of VP Sales DACH directly at FRAMEN. Paul Thümer, formerly Director Sales DACH, will act as VP Sales Central Europe and is responsible for building teams in Italy, Poland and Scandinavia. He will work together with Ali Atcha, who has been promoted to VP Sales Nordics in Oslo. Manuel Garza, former CFO, takes over the role of VP Sales Iberia with focus on Spain and Portugal. Herlan Antunes is starting as VP Operations with a strong team. 💜 Thank you to everyone at FRAMEN for carrying the change towards a more global organizational structure and for thriving. Our team and all the trailblazers. Thanks to each and every one of you.Thank you to Mathias Döpfner, Julian Deutz, Niddal Salah-Eldin, and Jan Bayer for your trust and cooperation. A very special thank you to Samir Fadlallah and Mathias Sanchez, Andreas Noth, Ansgar Schoenborn, and Lili Birnbach for standing behind us, believing in us and making history with us. And last but not least to my co-founders and co-directors: Dimitri Gärtner, Alexander Gärtner, Sveatoslav Podobinschi and Thomas Bergemann. You are simply amazing! https://lnkd.in/eFuJH8-y

GermanyAutohaus Kummich: Family and regionalJanuary 16, 2024 By Andreas Grimm, Kfz-BetriebFor a quarter of a century, the Kummich car dealership has grown step by step, repeatedly taking over individual businesses. Despite the spatial expansion, the car dealership group maintains a family atmosphere - even when integrating new locations.Bopfingen is a town with 12,000 inhabitants in the eastern Württemberg province and is still home to one of the largest car dealers in Germany. Over the past quarter century, the Kummich car dealership has quietly but steadily worked its way up the IfA list of the largest car dealership groups in Germany. However, the big bangs are neither the preference of company boss Thomas Kummich nor his firmly integrated and well-rehearsed management team and the entire team of employees. It is better to move forward step by step within a manageable framework. The Kummich mission statement fits in with this: “We live family” – and we do so with consistency, honesty, appreciation and respect. At the turn of the millennium, Thomas Kummich opened a second new location in nearby Aalen - the starting signal for expansion had been given. Since then, the company has acquired numerous other individual businesses that were sold for various reasons. There were bankruptcies as well as a lack of successors. It has always been important to Kummich that the locations are within the previous operating radius. However, this radius has expanded quite a bit from its origins: the market area now extends from Backnang near Stuttgart in the west to Nuremberg in the east; there are currently 14 locations. They are lined up like a string of pearls, with a maximum of 30 minutes' drive between them, so that the locations can help each other out if there are staff shortages.#autohaus #kfz #automobil #retail #dealershiphttps://lnkd.in/ef8B7A7P

Burkhard Weller: "We will be the largest MG dealer in Germany"In the AUTOHAUS interview, Burkhard Weller explains why the Weller Group is increasingly relying on Chinese suppliers such as MG Motor and what role he generally expects the newcomers from the Far East to play in Germany. 23.01.2024 Author:Ralf Padrtka autohausAH: Mr. Weller, in the lead-up to this interview you said that the German automotive industry is currently dismantling itself. What do you mean by that?Burkhard Weller: In my opinion, manufacturers/importers and retailers need to work more closely together. The associations VDA, VDIK and ZDK act like competitors. If we don't speak a common language when it comes to politics, then the ideologues from the public transport and bicycle camp will gain ground. Mobility is not about either/or, but about both/and. In a large country like ours, the car still has a great right to exist.AH: How do you rate the performance of the new ZDK leadership so far?B. Weller: What is positive is that President Arne Joswig is much more visible than his predecessor. I would like to highlight Managing Director Dr. Kurt-Christian Scheel, he is a great asset to our industry. But there is still a lot to do. The best example was the last car summit in the Chancellery - again without the ZDK. Our representatives have to push in and bang on the table: It's not about 600,000 jobs in the German auto industry, but about 1.2 million.AH: The ZDK seems more present in Berlin and Brussels than before. Isn’t that progress?B. Weller: Opening the Brussels representative office is certainly the right step because the laws are made there. The same applies to the new offices on Gendarmenmarkt, which pave the way for a headquarters in Berlin. But: Despite these measures and the better staffing, the small traders are still there. You have to imagine this: Since the 1950s, the Federal Minister of Transport has been invited to stick together light test stickers. I would discuss other issues with the Transport Minister.AH: Last year you ran for the highest ZDK office, but lost out to Arne Joswig. In retrospect, are you glad that you didn't become association president?B. Weller: You can't say that. I accept the democratic choice. What you can say: I would radically restructure the association and tackle the encrusted structures. During my brief insight into the interior of the association with the regional associations, motor vehicle guilds, manufacturer associations, upper and lower departments, it became clear to me: There is far too much petty politics going on. Not meant to be disrespectful: a gas station is run differently than a car dealership.#dealership #automotive #retail #mg #wellergruppehttps://lnkd.in/dVGH3Dfr

Many experts and industry professionals claimed that what happened in the United States with Convoy would not happen in Europe. We have our first victim, what will happen next? Will the way digital forwarding has functioned and continues to function be a big problem for them nowadays? It certainly won't build trust in their actions, now every mistake, delayed payment or other turmoil will be exaggerated. Will Instafreight save itself by switching solely to being a 4PL? In my opinion, the policy of entering the forwarding industry without any special competitive advantages in the form of digital solutions and fighting solely on the prices of services has just backfired. Who's next? I have a few candidates, even on our Polish market.
