Oxnard, California Augustine Zuniga Avila 1932 — 2024 Augustine Zuniga Avila, known affectionately as Gus, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. Augustine was born April 13, 1932, in Garden City Kansas. He moved to California in 1939 with his family and lived in Los Angels before moving to Ventura County where he was a resident for 81 years. Gus attended Oxnard High School and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He married his wife, Rachel in 1959 and had three children, Augie (Brenda) Avila, Lisa(Larry)Foster, and Patrick Avila. He had six grandchildren, Kristina (David), Anthony (Cynthia), Thomas, Matthew (Elianna), Lucas and Michael and seven great-grandchildren, Dominic, Noemi, Anthony... Oxnard, California Barbara A. Partee 1942 — 2024 Barbara A. Partee, 82, died on Saturday, May 18, 2024 in Oxnard. She was born January 31, 1942 in Imperial and was a 50-year Ventura County resident, moving here from San Pedro. Barbara worked as a personnel manager for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2002. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and watching the kids prosper. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Sandra Lin and Roberta Sue; son Russell Dale; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lamon A. Partee and sons Nicholas Paul Partee and David Allen Partee. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 14 at Reardon Funeral Home, 511 North A St., Oxnard. Jess was born in Phoenix Arizona on November 23, 1931 to parents Frank and Isabel Cirino. He lived a humble childhood as the son of a railroad worker and dedicated his adult life to serving his church, family and community. Born September 26, 1936 in El Rio to Jose and Leonor Padilla, she was the 9th in a family of eleven children. Sally worked for the El Rio School District where she tested students' English language proficiency, helping hundreds of children to increase their English language abilities. Sally was an accomplished artist, winning a number of ribbons for her porcelain dolls at the Ventura County Fair. She was well known for her paintings, sewing and needlepoint.
