I Don’t Need the Grand Duke’s Regret - Chapter 29 - Belle Reservoir (2025)

Chapter 29

Armilla smiled and squinted. For some reason, she felt like crying.

This is her first time laughing out loud like this.

Because it was her first time meeting someone who showed such pure affection.

“I laughed because I liked meeting Luce. Luce, please take care of me in the future.”

Armilla wiped away the tears that came from her laughter and held out her hand to Luce. Luce looked at Armilla’s white hands and wiped her hands on her skirt.

As the two held hands, their warm body heat pounded each other’s hearts in the cool northern cold.

And then.

“You were here.”

A heavy male voice separated the two people.

The moment she heard the cold voice, every cell in Armilla’s body tensed up. Splat, splat, the sound of the man stepping on the snow with his heavyweight was getting closer and closer.

“Armilla.”

Armilla pursed her lips to give an answer. However, only white steam came out of her mouth.

“Ma, Master!”

It was Luce who reacted faster than Armilla. Luce recognized the man approaching from behind Armilla and threw the firewood she was holding on the floor.

“Master!”

Luce fell flat on the floor and trembled.

“What are you doing here?”

Ricardo’s black shadow fell over Armilla. Armilla opened her mouth with her eyes fixed on Luce.

“I came out to get some air.”

“In this weather?”

Ricardo narrowed his eyes and looked at the prone maid. But that was just for a moment, he looked at Armilla again.

“Follow me.”

Ricardo gave a short command and turned. Armilla quietly trembled as she read what he meant in those words.

Ricardo is back.

With the marriage permit.

Unlike Armilla’s room, where even the wallpaper seemed to be made of ice, the Grand Duke’s office was cozy.

Ricardo entered the office and glanced at Nasir, who was waiting for him. Nasir smiled kindly when he saw Armilla coming in after Ricardo.

“You are here, Lady Armilla. You’ve been waiting a long time, right? Congratulations.”

Armilla hesitantly entered the office and nodded her head slightly.

While coming here from the warehouse, several people’s eyes fell on Armilla.

Each look filled with subtle contempt seemed like a stinging needle sticking into her.

Armilla quietly swept her arms with a sad look. Another needle was stuck in her.

“I guess you’re not in the mood to celebrate.”

Ricardo stared at Armilla with a gaze that seemed to pierce her insides. He sat down at his desk and waved his hand at Nasir.

“This is the temple’s marriage permit.”

Ricardo, who received the document from Nasir, raised an eyebrow. With Armilla’s dark expression, an awkward silence filled the office for a moment.

Ricardo spread the permit on the desk and spoke to Armilla.

“If you want to quit right now, tell me. I won’t force it.”

Feeling intimidated, Armilla raised her head. Then her and Ricardo’s gazes collided in the air. Ricardo looked at Armilla persistently as if he was going to tie her up and spoke.

“I just need to find another wife candidate.”

At that moment, Bianca passed through Armilla’s head.

As Bianca said, this is not simply ‘luck’. It’s the best luck of her life.

There are many women who want Ricardo. Aside from Bianca, the female nobles who came to the Princess’ funeral were also busy stealing glances at Ricardo without paying much attention to offering condolences.

Above all, Armilla also wanted Riccardo. She wanted to be proud of herself by his side.

Ricardo was the man she could not dare say she wanted.

But Ricardo proposed to Armilla.

It was a miracle.

Armilla vowed not to do anything foolish to kick that miracle. She took a deep breath and spoke.

“Your Grace proposed to me.”

“I did.”

Ricardo answered dryly and picked up a pen. He signed the marriage permit and then looked at Armilla again.

Armilla gulped. She approached Ricardo in a delirious manner. Even though it was only a few steps away, it felt far away.

“Sign it.”

Armilla took the pen from Ricardo with trembling hands. And she wrote the name she had practiced and thought over countless times on the marriage permit.

The name: ‘Armilla Vittore’.

Ricardo and Armilla signed the marriage permit , and a poster announcing this was posted in Renato.

This was the end of their wedding ceremony. This was because it had not been long since Ricardo held the funeral of his former fiance. Additionally, it was because Armilla’s identity was unclear.

“She finally got the place. Amazing.”

“Shh, watch your mouth. Now she is the Grand Duchess.”

“What Grand Duchess. You never know when she might get kicked out.”

Armilla, sitting in the Black Room that was the Grand Duke’s bedroom, squeezed her eyes shut as she heard whispers beyond the door.
