Basically, it's going back to eating as they did before the modernization of food came about in the 1930s or so. So many health problems have come up in our society since that time.

But cutting out the processed food can be difficult for some people who are used to fast food, frozen food, and canned food. You may be surprised how it's really not that difficult to whip up a lot of these recipes and you also may be surprised at how much better you feel when you eat these recipes.

If all these seem a little overwhelming, check out our post with a bunch of suggestions for meal prep ideas and recipes to help you prepare in advance and cut down on your time overall in the kitchen.

I hope you enjoy these and I hope you can find several that become your favorites and hopefully even avoid a night of eating at a fast-food restaurant.

Chicken

Chicken is a staple in many households and I have several ideas below sorted in order of most popular on my blog.

Chicken is pretty much a staple in my life as far as eating goes. That's why these clean eating chicken recipes as so essential to me and I think they will be for you too.

I mean think about it. Chicken is so versatile. You can fry it, broil it, grill it, boil it, cook it in the crock pot or the instant pot *. You can cook it in an air fryer * or use sous vide. I'm sure are more ways to cook chicken besides these too.

There are so many different flavors in a chicken since there is both dark meat and white meat. You can add so many different ingredients to recipes which makes it so you can make chicken taste like almost anything. That's because it has a relatively mild flavor compared to turkey even.

I like chicken because it is rather low in fat for protein and it's relatively inexpensive.

That's why these clean eating chicken recipes will be so helpful. I have quite a variety. I hope you love them as much as I do. Enjoy!

Slow Cooker

This is still probably my favorite way to cook. I love to just take a few minutes in the morning when I have a little time and energy and then know all day that I don't have to figure out what we are having for dinner that night or make it later that day.

Soups

There are many reasons why soup is so great. For one, soup is so versatile and can be easily adapted to different lifestyles. Soup is also usually easy to prepare and can be made ahead of time (definitely a plus in my book).

The flavors in soup meld nicely together and are a great way to eat a lot of vegetables. Another plus is that you can keep soup warm on the stove for long periods of time without the taste being compromised. It's also easy to serve to a large group of people because your whole meal is in one bowl, except for maybe some toppings.

Here are some of our favorites -

Kids

One way I get my children to eat foods they wouldn't normally eat is to give them healthy options when they are hungry. For example, when they are starving and you're making dinner and you may be tempted to say they shouldn't eat anything before dinner.

Tell them the only thing they can have before dinner is vegetables. When I do that, if my kids are hungry enough, they chow down on mini carrots and snap peas. No forcing required.

Hopefully, your children love many of the above recipes. But I thought I would give you a little head start and tell you some of my children's favorites -
