Lake Crescent, located in Olympic National Park, is a stunning glacial mountain lake surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills. In the morning, the calm waters of the lake create a mirror-like reflection of its beautiful surroundings. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as fishing for unique trout species like Beardslee rainbow trout and Crescenti cutthroats, kayaking, canoeing or paddleboarding. The area also offers hiking trails through old-growth forests and opportunities for picnicking and camping.

Lake Crescent, is hands down one of the most Incredibly Beautiful places you'll Ever See...🏞 Crystal clear water. (However VERY Cold most of the year)Breathtakingly beautiful surroundings.Annnd if you're lucky enough to find her majesty, The Moss Tree... you'l never forget how incredible she is.

Beautiful place to walk around and boat. The water is blue and green. We boated in the middle of the water, it was a little bit wavy. The view is spectacular!Lot of people kayak and swim.

Selina Y — Google review

Our favorite and most beautiful place in all of Washington. The Lake is warmer than swimming in the pacific coast. Its crystal clear waters and nice trails will have you coming back again. The pier for the lodge is open to everyone and we take full advantage jumping off over and over using the ladder and pier. You can rent water toys or bring your own. Hot springs is close by, gaming farm 40-60 minutes away, Port Angeles near by too.

SuzyQ1love — Google review

This is an insanely gorgeous lake that is absolutely worth going to. Green, forested mountains plunging into a deep lake with various shades of blue/teal throughout, this place is spectacular. Highly recommend!

Collin S — Google review

This is a gorgeous area of Olympic National Park. The lake is enormous and the color is a magnificent shade of blue. I would definitely leave some time in your plans for a stop here. We took the Spruce Railroad Trail to the Devil’s Punchbowl, which was not difficult by any means. It was a perfect spot to take a lunch break and relax.

The B — Google review

This was definitely the most beautiful spot we stopped at during our trip in Washington. The water almost looks fake, it’s such a gorgeous blue color. So quiet, calming and relaxing here.

Early in the morning with calm waters looked like glass. This area is very peaceful and amazing place for pictures. Nice overlook area of Rt.101. I highly recommend this place.

Absolutely stunning views! Perfectly still lake creates unreal reflections surrounded by utter beauty! A must stop on the Olympic Peninsula!

Avan V — Google review

On a clear sunny day this lake is definitely one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. So many shades of blue can be brought out by the sun!! Great area for families and the solo traveler. Make sure to stop by Devil's Punchbowl!!

Eric E — Google review

Probably the bluest, clearest water I’ve ever seen. It was so beautiful and calming. Even the scenery around the lake is beautiful. It is very peaceful and beautiful. I would 100% recommend. If able, I would recommend going kayaking as well. It is so beautiful and even the pictures I took didn’t do it justice.

Shalon J — Google review

This lake is truly astounding. The water is so blue and clear. We took a dip in it and it was so refreshing. Nice polar plunge. Lots of different access points. Not many boats on the water.

Such an amazing lake! Crystal clear and refreshing! We went to the lodge parking lot and went to the pier to jump off there.Kayak and canoe rentals stopped at 3 pm. So, we missed that. But the lake and the swimming was awesome! I’m

Amazing views with some boat launching spots. Best view is during sunset. The camps and lodges are high in demand and it gets reserved very fast. Try to book few months in advance. There are lot of hikes marymere falls hike is good option.

So beautiful and well worth a stop - we did a short trail and had lunch on the shore.

What a stunning lake - Although it is in Olympic National Park, you dont need a pass to access this lake. The lake’s crystal clear waters and nice trails will have you coming back again for sure. By the way, the pier for the lodge is open to everyone. Its also possible to rent water toys or bring your own. Hot springs is close by as well. There are also numerous spots around the like where you can stop and enjoy the view or have a picnic.

Simply breathtaking! The lake is so beautiful to sit by, it’s so quiet! We enjoyed walking a bit around the lake, and then enjoyed some nice & quiet time. The water was rather cold, but there were lots of people going in for longer or shorter periods of time. Kids didn’t seem to be bothered by the temperature of the water.Plenty of parking available at 10:30am on a Friday.

Teo S — Google review

I feel like images can’t even capture how gorgeous this area is. Definitely wish I had a kayak because this would be the perfect spot. There’s a little free parking lot with a single bathroom by the lake.

Elsie D — Google review

A very beautiful and blue lake. A must visit. There are several beaches. We were able to park in a side lot next to lake crescent lodge and get access to a quiet part of the beach. Probably highlight of our trip to Olympic National park

Addy K — Google review

It was a bit Smokey due to all the fires around Washington back in August and to this day. But it was spectacular nonetheless and really enjoyed looking out the water after the hike to Mierimer Falls.

History Museums

The Sooke Region Museum & Visitor Centre is a fascinating community museum that offers a glimpse into the area's pioneer days through dioramas and historical artifacts. The friendly staff provides insights on local attractions and seasonal highlights, while free resources are available to enhance visitors' knowledge. The museum also features outdoor exhibits and a mini art gallery curated by university students. Despite its small size, the well-maintained museum offers an enriching experience for those interested in the history of Sooke.

Stopped on a whim after spotting the lighthouse, and decided to check out the museum. It's a pretty tiny museum, but well curated. The outdoor exhibits were all still under cover and closed off, but we had fun poking around the old equipment that was left out in the elements. As this museum operates on a donation basis, it's really tough to complain that you're not getting your money's worth! :)

Steve S — Google review

Some stuff was closed but it was January so can't really blame them. This is the same as pretty much every local museum in a former logging town that you've been to, there was some old machinery outside which was cool. As always the scale models were the best part for me.

Noah L — Google review

Very interesting well presented history museum of Sooke. Very impressed.I am from England in Sooke visiting my daughter and her family. It is nice to see the history of the place she has now made her home, and to realise what a welcoming place this is.

John C — Google review

so many ideas for gifts for families. the history is very interesting and worth the visit on a rainy day . In the summer there is the Thursday Market from 5-8pm with food trucks and vendors as well as live music! it is really a nice ambience. !

Irene F — Google review

Stopped for a bathroom break and quick leg stretch on our journey. This is a great place to stop. I was quite impressed with the displays and the merchandise available. Primarily priced for tourists but laden with unique gift ideas and one of a kind items.

Dionne N — Google review

The Sooke museum and visitor center is a great stopover for a bathroom break and to look at the history of the region with a small area. The museum is free to enter, not busy even on a weekend afternoon, and has lots to offer for information on the historical events of Sooke. From its bear bridge, to the industrial production of wood and other items, the museum even comes with a mini art gallery run by University students on the upper floor. I loved the museum plus the gift store has lots of offers too. The employees there were also nice, and public washrooms are available. I recommend anybody who is visiting Sooke to stop by this place as a must. You won't regret it!

E T — Google review

Great biking trails in the are. Very helpful staff at the information center to make sure you find the trails. Whiffen spit had great bird watching

Vaida S — Google review

This is a really quaint place to visit. It's not the most interesting, but the atmosphere is really nice. I recommend going to check them out when there's an event so there's more to do, that would be really worthwhile!

R L — Google review

Such a little gem of a place and packed with artifacts and lots of good background info on the history of the area. The gift ship is well stocked with a lot of nice quality items such as jewelery, scarves and ceramic mugs. There is also a lighthouse and a number of large pieces of old logging equipment on the grounds which are interesting to view. There is a nice green space and a few picnic tables if you want to take a break here. Additional bonus is this museum houses an Info center so you can ask the staff any questions you may have and pick up helpful brochures. Washrooms are also available here. This is a great pit stop if you want to learn about the Sooke area.

Wendy H — Google review

Pretty typical museum for a small town not much to see but it's free and the gift shop is great, worth the stop if you need a bit of a leg stretch

Vintagepimpage 6 — Google review

A great place to visit to get an insight on the region. Staff were very helpful and pleasant to deal with and provided lots of additional tourist information for us. Great suggestions on how and what to visit along with some great local knowledge.

A fantastic pit stop on your way to Juan de Fuca. The staff there are super friendly and can share insights on attractions and seasonality expectation. There are also lots of resources free to take that can help you gain some knowledge about particular attraction points. The historical equipment and items were very neat, love the knowledge shared along with some story telling audio display. Please don't forget to support this location and get some post cards or merchandise!!

Park

Nature & Parks

Salt Creek Recreation Area is a beautiful public park on a former WWII military installation with trails, ball courts, and campsites. It's a great place to camp near Olympic National Park, with excellent views of rugged sea stacks and the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

One of the most beautiful places we have ever camped here in the PNW. This is my families 2nd favorite campground in the state of Washington. So many hikes straight from the campground which we enjoy. There are several sites with good views, we stayed in spot #53 and loved it. When the tide is low you can go explore the tide pools and find so many cool creatures, always watch for sneaker waves. The views all around camp are stunning, they have an RV dump and RV potable water fill station during the off seasons. Generators are allowed till 10pm if you have a small RV (22ft) and choose to go back into the campground/tent loop with no power instead of the concrete parking lot for the rvs up front that do have power. There is a playground and basketball court for families to enjoy. Clean restrooms and showers as well. Highly recommend a camping trip at this location!

Gemsofthewild — Google review

This little area was a pleasant surprise and a quick place to explore (about 20 minutes) with very close parking. The tide pools are only accessible to the very nimble and sure-footed folks, but paved stairs take you down to a nice view of them and the water with Victoria Island beyond. Those able to climb down and around are rewarded with the discovery of creatures like sea anemones.

Brandi B — Google review

Really cool experience! We went at the highest low tide of the day, and we still got to experience a lot of little tide pools where you could see all kinds of sea creatures such as anemones, sea slugs, urchins, muscles and more!I wish that I'd come at the lowest tide, but the time just didn't work out for our trip. It looks like you can go a lot farther than I did, but some areas are very slippery so I would definitely recommend preparing to get a little wet or muddy to get to some of the more remote parts.

Ben G — Google review

What an experience! My wife and I were in Port Angeles for our five year anniversary. We wanted to do the tide pooling in Olympic National Park but saw how far they were and tried to find a closer spot. This park looked nice and we made a stop. Wow!First the park is free which is a bonus. But I would have happily paid for this view. The park has tide pools, a sandy beach, and great views. The fog rolled in and the little island just about disappeared. Really cool spot to kick up your feet and relax. Worth the stop!

Brian R — Google review

This is my all-time favorite Campground Recreation Area. It is absolutely beautiful. There are wonderful Trails here and you can get to the tide pools very easily down the stairs gorgeous sunsets at night. And the campground spots are very spacious a lot of them have views of the water. Peaceful and quiet.

Teri T — Google review

Salt Creek was an amazing place to hang out for a while. In addition to the awesome tide pools at low tide, there's also an old WWII bunker you can drive under and check out. The camping area is clean, and we'd love to come back to stay a few nights next time in this beautiful little retreat on the Pacific Ocean.

Solistia L — Google review

This was my first time visiting Salt Creek, but I will definitely be going back. There is a lot to do and see. Today I took the Striped Peak Trail to the Cove Spur Trail where I saw the most beatiful, serene, isolated cove. I first saw it from a cliff above. I hiked down the steep switchbacks (they have log and stone steps built in a lot of the way down), and encountered a waterfall so close to the trail, I could feel the spray! At the bottom I found myself alone just sucking in the quiet and beauty! It was so worth the hike!! I was there at high tide, but I understand that there are tidepools if you can be there during low tide. It took me about an hour each way.

Deana K — Google review

Really nice day spot. Not a lot of places to hang out but everything was clean and well maintained. The TIP here is to plan your trip for the early morning when the tide is out. We went in the afternoon and the tide was in and there was not much beach to explore just a few big rocks to sit or stand on. I can tell with tide out this would be an amazing spot. Or camp overnight so you can be there early to really see the tide pools. Free day use. Reserve and first come first serve sites.

Rikki B — Google review

What a gorgeous little beach. I loved that the waves weren't aggressive, so my son and I could actually play in the water. The creek that runs into the ocean was warm, so we had fun rock hunting in there. I'm definitely glad we checked this place out!

Tara B — Google review

Definitely a place to visit during low tide. The tide pools were amazing. We arrived on an unexpectedly warm May Day, the crowds were abundant.

Julie J — Google review

Nice campground with good sturdy picnic tables. Multiple ADA accessible camp sites and lots of pull through RV spots. Saw a lot of dogs and a lot of quiet couples. There is a playground for kids but it’s pretty small. However there is plenty of spots for kids to run around or toss a frisbee.

Mike D — Google review

We've spent most of our coastal time in Olympic on the Pacific coast. So we were absolutely thrilled to watch the sunset here. It is an excellent place to watch the sunset and it is stunning and at low tide. The tide pools are fascinating and fun to explore.

Frank M — Google review

This is a fantastic spot to see tide pools with lots of ocean life. These require some planning to visit because they are inaccessible during high tide. Also, it requires scaling some rocks. Water shoes are highly recommended because there are lots of barnacles and oyster shells that would be very uncomfortable to walk on. Beyond the tide pools, there are also some amazing ocean overlooks around the park. This place is definitely a great one to check out when you visit this part of the state.

Rhys T — Google review

There's some beautiful sealife here! It's fun to go at low tide so you can get the most out of it. Definitely check the weather before going. The rocks can be slippery when wet. I would not recommend visiting with sandals on. Hiking shoes would be the ideal footwear for this location. Be mindful of the sealife during your visit as any animals you have may want to dig or bite at the creatures. It's a beautiful park! Come check it out!

Joshua J — Google review

Great discovery. Driving the shore road and came across Salt Creek RA. Intrigued by the military bunker. The campground looked nice, right on the water, pull-through spaces, open grass sites, very nice. The bunker is an old coastal gun battery, ca 1940's. It's locked up for safety reasons, would be nice to offer tours. They did provide a lot of information and diagrams of the site, so it's a good learning experience. It's the kind of place you need to plan on staying a while. Tent, trailer or RV, find a spot and set down for 3-5 days, enjoy the view, the water and the woods.

Christopher L — Google review

I didn't explore much from the recreation area but did hang out at this portion of the beach for a while. Very pleasant. The sealife visible at low tide was really neat as well.

Alex W — Google review

Amazing beauty and such a panoramic view of the water. Saw several ships sailing on the horizon. Great places for pictures as well. Beautiful day...

Cheryl — Google review

It's a bit of a drive from Olympia but once you get there man is it worth the drive. There are 4 outlook spots and each one has its own beauty, but #4 is why you came here and when you go down those stairs and see that island and the ocean meet it's magical. Before the outlook there is camp grounds and RV hook ups, bathrooms, and picnic areas to enjoy the surf and the view is amazing. Kid and pet friendly. Please keep it the way you found it and throw away any trash you brought in.

Great trail to walk with your loved-ones...

Chad K — Google review

This is a great trail the can be travelled in many different ways. Walking 🚶‍♂️ , running 🏃‍♂️ , biking 🚴‍♂️ hand stand you name it. This is a wide clearly marked trail that used to be a rail line. There are lots of scenic views and spots to enjoy along the 55 km trail. Of course most people do just a short distance of the trail.

Kirk D — Google review

We biked from downtown Victoria to the castle and bird sanctuary. The trail was mostly flat with a few up and down smaller hills. Nothing super challenging, but lots of fun. The route runs parallel to the highway for a portion, but is mostly separated by a wall. There are several coffee shops along the route or close by, which is handy if you need a bite. We stopped by pilgrim coffee and we’re not disappointed. The trail goes all the way to Sooke, which is a beautiful area. If you have bikes and are in the area, I highly recommend biking at least a portion of the trail. Also, be aware that many bikers will not give any signal that they are passing you (which an be atypical depending on where you’re from). Enjoy the ride and look out for those galloping geese!

Mary — Google review

Absolutely outstanding trails. Can’t wait to explore them more.

Joe S — Google review

This is a great trail that connects Victoria, Saanich, Langford and Sooke. Excellent for cyclists (lots of electric bikes on the trail), walking, or running.Part of the trail goes along the highway, but the rest is quiet and peaceful. Most is also paved for smooth cycling.

James S — Google review

My favourite place to go for a walk and get some air. So lucky to lived near by and can come here so often. This is a very long trail for bicycling as well. I think the most beautiful part is the VicWest - George area.

Emma D — Google review

This trail is an absolute must for anyone who enjoys a bike ride, or a walk. If you want to see it ALL I recommend cycling. Beautiful stretches through forests, next to the ocean, through the city. It's great for the whole family. Well maintained and extremely well thought out.

Garden

Nature & Parks

The Butchart Gardens, spanning 22 hectares, is a well-known botanical garden featuring seasonal entertainment and eateries. It was founded over a century ago by Jennie Butchart, who transformed her husband's limestone quarry into a beautiful garden with stunning landscaping, diverse flora including ornamental birds like peaco*cks. Today, the gardens attract over 1 million visitors during March to October to witness the blooming of more than one million plants.

Butchart Gardens is wonderful. We enjoy going there. We have done it many times. The flowers are ever changing and so is the colors that go with it. The day was colder than we like, but we bundled up and made the best of it.When the sun came out and the wind died down, we enjoyed the walk and beauty before us. We stopped for their three tiered tea at their restaurant. They were booked up but the outside tables were still available. We said yes. And we enjoyed the great sandwiches and scone, the sweets we brought back to the B&B we're staying at for later on.The trip to the gardens is worth the drive to. It's a favorite for many a traveler. Enjoy your visit to Butchart Gardens with your family and friends!

Bob M — Google review

The gardens are absolutely beautiful. Breathtaking at times. It took us about 2 hours to admire the flowers and walk through. It was interesting to read the history of the gardens on the plaques.Admission may seem a bit expensive but it’s worth the price and you factor in how much maintenance the gardens require.Bathrooms are adequately situated throughout the gardens. There is also a nice ice-cream spot at the end. It was delicious.

J C — Google review

I had not been to the gardens in 20+ years, and wasn't sure how memory would compare to a tour with my family (including two children ages 9 and 11). The kids were not initially looking forward to the visit, but we made it into a big of an imaginative adventure walking through the various parts of the gardens. It's fantastically lovely, especially in season. Peaceful even with crowds. When I lived in British Columbia I enjoyed working on the same soil and with many of the same plants the staff do for gardening around my property, but boy do they take it to perfection.Just stunning.Getting food is a bit tricky and the lines to the two sit-down restaurants were out the doors. We ended up at the coffee shop, where there are some decent options.

Mark F — Google review

What an amazing experience. Such a beautiful garden and we were so happy to be able to bring our dog along. It rained during our visit and I loved that the gardens offered umbrellas for everyone. I would love to visit in the height of summer! I can’t even imagine the blooms!

Elizabeth R — Google review

Great tour of the house, and also incredible grounds, well maintained. Plenty of history and walking areas. The fountains, sunken garden, Ross Fountain, and much more. All of this started in an old quarry, it seems, now it's a National Landmark - well deserved. Would love to come back in the spring, when the garden blooms. We appreciated our winter, visit, however.

Jonathan H — Google review

Gorgeous gardens and a very pleasant overall experience. Fair price / good value if you enjoy flowers, trees, scenery, gardens. Follow the route as outlined in the free map and nice guide provided as you enter. All walking is easy and level, you can also take stairs here and there. The carousel is also fun, everyone seemed shy to try it but the minute my grown daughter and I saddled up, lots of other riders joined. This is a good place to demonstrate what happens when someone with a vision and passion (and in this case, some money) sets out to create something amazing, it can be done. This was an ugly rock quarry 125 years ago and Jenny Butchart transformed it! Highly recommend this.

GT H — Google review

Beautiful gardens and a great place to visit. The entrance and parking experience was the most organized I've ever experienced. BC Ferries could learn a lot here.

Chris B — Google review

This was an amazing experience! If someone told me I'd enjoy a big garden as much as I did I don't think is believe them! The sunken garden is spectacular. The variety of flowers, shrubs and trees was amazing. I loved the dahlias and the roses. The Japanese garden was so different and very peaceful. The price of admission per person seems really high at 38$ per adult but it's so beautiful. I would love to come back on a rainy day and I will definitely come back for Christmas.

Melissa J — Google review

First time visiting The Butchart Gardens. It is absolutely beautiful! The different flowers, plants, trees and gardens are gorgeous! We brought our cameras (had to!)and lost track of time! The restaurant closes at 3pm!It’s hard to imagine that the now beautiful sunken garden was once a limestone quarry! A lot of hard work has definitely gone into it!Highly recommend!

R M — Google review

Absolutely stunning! So gorgeous! Visited during summer on Sat + Sunday but it wasn't super crowded - plenty of opportunities to get great photos without a bunch of people. Some parts feel like you're in a forest, definitely not your average botanic garden.Easy parking, yummy food, stunning views. Loved that it's dog friendly - so fun to see them all visiting and didn't hear one bark! All staff was super friendly, so well maintained.

Sarah C — Google review

Still very beautiful in autumn but definitely wishing we would've come mid summer. Many of the gardens were not in season, obviously, but the website was slightly misleading about how much we would be able to see in October. For over $30 per adult, I don't recommend coming in the autumn. Plan your trip for the summer even if admission is slightly more, I think it would be more worth it. Also, many of the shops are seasonal and were not open this time of year around the gardens but the main ones in the entrance/exit were still open!

Enchanting Escapes at The Butchart Gardens in Victoria! 🌺🌿🌷 Stepped into the enchanting world of The Butchart Gardens in Victoria, a sanctuary where the tapestry of nature's colors unfolds. Even in March, when all flowers haven't yet bloomed, the gardens offer a serene beauty, hinting at the forthcoming floral spectacle. 🌱🌼 Amidst the lush greenery, the coffee shop and restaurant at the gardens provide delightful spots to unwind and savor a meal or a drink, perfect for refueling during your exploration or on your way to Victoria. 🍴☕🌿 From the early blooms of spring to the full glory of summer, The Butchart Gardens is a dynamic canvas of nature, changing with the seasons yet always providing a peaceful escape. It's not just a visit; it's an experience that refreshes the soul and pleases the senses. 🦋

We had the most amazing & relaxing Sunday afternoon at The Butchart Gardens. This place is a must if you are visiting Victoria. I am a local and will come time and time again and always have a breathtaking experience. Every season brings a different vibe but I must say I am biased to the Spring. Nothing quite beats the vibrant colours of the tulips & rhododendron. The cafe is always fresh and has some nice treats to enjoy while exploring. The gardens are pet-friendly which definitely appeals to us. Plan to spend 1-2 hours here and don’t forget to check out the cute gift shop at the end. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a great way to spend an afternoon! Thanks for a fun day!

Stacey P — Google review

Absolutely loved our visit to Butchart Gardens! A dog friendly outing that many people took advantage of with running water into dog bowls throughout the gardens! Even though we were a bit early in the season for the rose gardens there were so many spring flowers and flowering trees that we were able to enjoy at this time of the year it was totally worth it. I wish we had booked seats in the Tea Room as it looked lovely but we were there on the Mother's Day weekend and a lot of people had the same idea. 😁

Beautiful Gardens. I took my In-Laws as it was where their Honeymoon was 30 years ago.Luckily the weather was amazing and most plants were in bloom. We loved the laid back park atmosphere throughout, and that there were many benches, bathrooms, and rest stops along the way. It makes it very family and all ages friendly. It is also pet friendly! It is a nice place to wander and get lost in.Aside from that, entrance fees were $38 per person, which is quite steep, but it allows for unlimited reentry on the day of.The Staff were also so friendly and helpful, often stopping to offer to take photos of you, or asking elderly if they needed any help etc.Overall a wonderful experience.

Jimmy H — Google review

Beautiful garden! The grounds are very well maintained and are absolutely stunning. One of the best things to do while in Victoria.Fresh and pure air such a huge garden very close to nature everything is colourful. Restaurant, coffee shop and other shops inside the Garden. The amazing collection of impressive sculptures, bubbling fountains, and charming footbridges adds a touch of magic to your experience. The Ross Fountain is a must-see.

Komalpreet K — Google review

This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Victoria. We almost decided not to go but we told our selves we would have regretted that decision. The gardens were easily walkable. The map makes it look more spread out than they really are. We went in mid August and the flowers were just amazing. My favorite was all the hanging baskets. The roses were pretty much done blooming at that point but still wonderful to see so many varieties. The Japanese Garden was so peaceful. The whole place-I could almost feel the stress leaving my body. I went later in the day and spent about 2 hours and saw everything but could have easily spent all day here. Even the bathrooms and the garbage can were surrounded by flowers and beautiful. They have tons of benches to rest, picnic tables to eat food you brought, a carousel for the kids, and a concert area where they put on concerts sometimes. I didn't eat in the restaurants but they have several. They also have a gift shop and gelato place.

I have been to many beautiful gardens and I'd say the Butchart Garden leaves a unique impression. The gardens are divided into different areas, each area has its own theme, such as Italian, Japanese, Sunken, and Rose. I love the natural ecosystem that is created by the garden, such as the pollination process between bees and flowers. The background of each garden is also well documented, which is great if you are interested in how the garden was built. The garden is well designed and accessible for everyone, which makes convenient for me to bring my infant. It's also a good place to bring your dog! There are food courts where you can sit and relax, while enjoying the view of the garden. I would highly recommend this place if you visit Victoria!

It is one of the best gardens I have visited in Canada; it is worth every cent. The fountain is fantastic, and the design is brilliant. It is easy to walk around without missing anything.

A once in a lifetime experience that you must see! This is one of earths treasures… it was a rainy blustery day which left all the trails empty for some amazing photos. I’m so happy I got have this experience and would highly recommend to anyone that travels to Victoria / Vancouver.

I have been there both in the summer and in the winter festive time, I think this is so beautiful and all the staff is so friendly. You could consider it to be alitle but expensive, but I think it’s so worth it. The lights were out of this world. So beautiful, perfect for Christmas. I’ve add pictures from my most recent visit, and you can see through the pictures how beautiful everything is and I still think these pictures can’t justify it.

No wonder this has so many amazing reviews. Absolutely stunning. We ended up spending four hours here, including eating at the Blue Poppy Restaurant, which was unexpectedly tasty for a counter-order place making food at volume. So glad we caught so many tulips!

Absolutely gorgeous! We talked to some locals on our visit to Vancouver island... They all had season passes to the gardens and having visited them myself now, I understand why: so much to see, changing with the seasons. A beautiful collection of gardens, full of trees and flowers.

The gardens are stunning, even in a cloudy day. Landscaping are well designed. The perfect spot to enjoy the plants flowers while take a stroll. Will definitely get a year pass if I live around.

Had a really great time exploring the butchart garden. It is very spacious and they have a lot of different flowers. It is recommended to visit this more than once as they have different flowers per season. They will also give you map and flower guide upon entry. The flower guide is very helpful as it shows the picture name and what month does the flower blooms. They have a very spacious parking and very coordinated staffs.

A really beautiful garden with various themes that will easily take 3 hours to explore and delight the senses! There was a light drizzle when we reached the place but the staff quickly replenished free umbrellas for all the guests and everyone happily returned them too once the rain is over, which was very fast in 15 mins. The flora display is amazing with huge blossoms of a riot of senses to the eyes. This round the roses have yet to bloom but from the buds seen they will be in full bloom in a week or 2. Car park directions and assistance was very orderly and well managed as many people including my group drove in to visit.

Absolutely loved it! We toured in mid March, so I thought it wouldn't be very exciting. But there were indoor flowers, bulbs coming up and blooming, flowering trees... And it was lovely. I didn't realize that there are several different areas, with different themes. I also didn't know about the carousel, totem poles, and fountains. I can't wait to return for an even more lush experience.

Thomas ( — Google review

We visited in March end and it was such a wonderful experience with variety and flowers blooming all around and cherry blossom trees shining through their final sprint. Lovely walk ways with multiple fountains and vibrant flower beds. Sunken garden was my favourite among all.

Shipra C — Google review

Love the gardens. It's less crowded in the morning and after 3pm. We spent two days there finding new paths every day to walk. I love the sunken garden, Japanese garden and the dragon fountain.

Anna H — Google review

This place was beautiful!!! It was a great activity to spend the night with for my husband and I’s first wedding anniversary. We spent at least an hour walking through the gardens and probably missed some spots still. The souvenir shop was really big and has great selections of souvenirs to get. We spent about 2 hours there including walking through the gardens, souvenir shop, walking towards and from the parking, and lining up in cars.

Charise C — Google review

It's a beautiful place reviewing it doesn't do it justice. The most striking in my opinion was the sunken garden. There's an indoor carousel for the kids. Dogs can also enjoy the place if on a leash and there are designated paths for wheelchairs. Try the high tea which I'm planning to do the next time. It takes around 90 minutes.

Sara A — Google review

I guess this place doesn't need my recommendation. But why not? Hubby and I loved it. We went on a cruise tour in the evening when the restaurants weren't open and just the couple of bus loads were there. Perfect time! We saw all the gardens at a nice pace with private photos. Gorgeous.

Believe it or not, after visiting Victoria every March for 23 years, I finally made it to Butchart Gardens. I was not disappointed. It was the first week of April. It was a beautiful day. The gardens did not disappoint. The blosdoming trees were in full blooms of pink and purple, of white and even yellow. The hyacinth were gorgeous as was their scent. There were daffodils galore and tulips of many colours. I found the site so clean and inviting. I look forward to returning with my wife next year!

Stunning gardens all I expected. Lovely picnic areas, very nice cafe and gift shop. Able to leave luggage at centre. Umbrella stands everywhere to borrow. Worth it even in the rain. Look for hidden moss animals and birds.

It's a captivating experience that seamlessly blends natural beauty with festive cheer, making it a must-visit attraction during the holiday season.Perfect for family outing or even a date night!

Absolutely stunning flower gardens! Excellent service staff and super clean surroundings. We will definitely come back here with more friends and relatives. Plus, the bus driver/guide is highly entertaining! Love this place…

Mel L — Google review

One of the most beautiful gardens that I have ever been. Beautiful tulips, cherry blossoms, and Japanese maples at the same place. Super clean, easy to park. Lots of tulips and multiple varieties actually. This was at the end of April 2024. Full bloom. We went early in the morning and was able to snap many pictures without many visitors. We stayed in inner harbor and it took 30’ to drive.

Cider bar

Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse is a picturesque and welcoming establishment that boasts an impressive selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic ciders, each with their own unique story. The attentive and amicable staff take great care in describing each item both before and after it arrives at the table. Customers can also purchase ciders from the on-site shop. The cidery offers diverse seating options with stunning views of the farm, making it the perfect destination for a sunny day.

This is possibly the best cidery we've been to to-date. The offerings were diverse and wonderful. Loved the seating options, view from the outside area onto the farm, and that there was an Italian food truck serving some great eats right by the seating area.Perfect treat for a sunny day.

Excellent cidery. Super cozy, nice staff, amazing cider. Had a great mid-winter experience and discovered their Mulled Cider, some of the best ciders I've ever tasted. Beautiful view and atmosphere.

Kirill P — Google review

Such a lovely farm and cider house! The selection of alcoholic and dry ciders were pretty decent. Each cider comes with a story and is served with lots of care. The staff described us each item both before and after they arrived on the table. The team is so friendly and kind. The platter was fairly delicious, just a bit on the pricey side. You could even buy from their shop.

Mina — Google review

We had a really good time doing the cider flights for tasting here. They were easy to find and had ample parking space. They have a store front with bottles of their cider as well as lots of locally produced products. Beware that some of these products are a little pricier than elsewhere on the island. They do have outdoor tables for seating for meals and cider tasting. We shared a flight of 6 ciders between two people, but you can also choose to do a flight of 3. Our waiter was very patient and helpful in recommending which to try without giving us pressure. Being very amateur to cider-tasting, I can't comment too much on the flavour. I thought they were fruity and pleasant. I would be interested in trying it in combination with their food menu too.Price was very reasonable for the experience -- just $15.50 for the long flight. I would totally go back with family so they can try this experience too.

We chose Sea Cider as our wedding venue and it felt like the best decision we made in all of our wedding planning. Everyone we interacted with at Sea Cider went above and beyond to help us plan (shoutout to Evita!) and the venue itself is amazing. The pavilion (photos here) was a beautiful place for our reception with ocean views, and the ceremony in the forest was exactly what we wanted. All of this, plus the cider itself is really good! Highly recommend going here for a tasting and enjoying the beautiful view and really great selection of ciders. We will definitely be back. :)

Micah B — Google review

Somewhat disappointed. We ordered sandwiches and ciders samplers. One of the sandwiches that we ordered was missing apples. We informed our server and he just brushed us off without offering to re-make our sandwiches with the missing ingredient. The sandwiches were also quite small, considering the price. Furthermore, we thought it was an odd choice to have a staff party right next to our table. The cider was delicious though.Furthermore the items in the store are ridiculously overpriced.

Levi L — Google review

I'll start with what I loved... The location is gorgeous and many of their ciders are delicious. What I didn't love... The service. The server brought our tasting to our table, didn't tell us anything about the cider then only came back an hour and half later to see if we wanted anything else and to let us know they were closing in 30 mins. Service is everything in the service industry. I take it they either have management issues/staffing issues or are riding on thier laurels by having a picturesque location.

Angela F — Google review

We were at a wedding reception here. I can't imagine a better location. Absolutely stunning scenery. The cider is pretty damn good too.

David J — Google review

I have since visited and also read several reviews. If you don't have a reservation don't even try for a walk in. I could absolutely accept being told they had no availability but it was the attitude of the hostess that really grated on my nerves. But the attitude plus being told we could buy a full priced bottle and drink in the parking lot was the icing on the cake. This place is obviously popular and they have a nice little shop with a good selection of food and merch. I wish they had been friendlier and that walk ins was even a possiblity.

Melissa J — Google review

We visited Sea Cider for the first time in February 2023 and then decided to get married there in September. It's a beautiful location. There's a scenic forest for the ceremony, a patio for cider tasting overlooking the orchard (and the ocean in the distance), and a spacious pavilion for dinner and dancing. When first deciding upon the location, we could hear traffic noises, but once everyone's there for a gathering, it's not noticeable at all. The staff were super friendly--especially Jura, who was assigned to us back in February and who kept in contact with us the entire time and answered our many questions thoroughly and patiently. The cider itself is some of the best we've ever had--our favourite is Bittersweet. Thank you so much for making our day stress-free!

Kaye B — Google review

One of my favourite cideries in the province. Nestled between the ferry terminal and Victoria, they produce a variety of memorable ciders by blending with various fruits and other flavours such as cranberries, cherries, blackberries, Douglas fir, hibiscus, etc besides traditional English-style dry ciders. All the while you can enjoy the view of the orchard before the ocean from the terrace.

Lewis W — Google review

My wife and I went here as part of our private tour of Vancouver Island and Victoria. We were excited because we had never done a cider tasting before. The property is set right next to the apple orchard and you can see the water as well. There is a building with merch and cider in it for sale, then a patio area where we did our tasting. It was lovely outside in early August, so we sat a picnic table. We tasted 12 ciders - 6 Classics and 6 Fan Favourites. We had a fun time tasting and writing little faces on the lists next to the way we felt about each one. Our favorite was the Flagship. We didn't taste any food as we had already had lunch, but the service was lovely and the manager (?) explained our tasting and seated us with utmost professionalism. We really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this lovely farm.

Amy D — Google review

Enjoyed this quaint ciderhouse, located beside the water and overseeing their orchard. My parents had fun trying out the Fan Favourites and got a bottle home. The presentation of their food and flight was lovely, but because of the sweetness of the cider, there were a lot for small flies going around.

QianHui S — Google review

This is a stunning location to taste some cider! Definitely recommend making a reservation, especially on a weekend, as some others were turned away without one when we were there. The back seating area is lovely with a view of the hills and the water in the distance. We came for a cider tasting flight our first time, which was great as I was able to customize the ciders I tried. I went with the non-alcoholic tasting the second time, which is highly recommended even for those who like to have the alcoholic flights!

James S — Google review

A lovely setting for lunch with friends. The flights are a great way to try a variety of their ciders. The apples are just being picked and the property is lovely to wander through. The omnivore platter to share was tasty and beautifully presented.

Ferry service

Transportation

The Black Ball Ferry Line operates a car ferry service departing from a terminal for trips to Victoria in Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Passengers can easily check in and board the ferry for a 90-minute ride that costs just over $100 for a driver with their car and one passenger. During the journey, passengers can enjoy views of the surrounding islands and scenery, which are particularly stunning on sunny days.

It was easy to check in and for the ferry ride. It was just over $100 for driver w car and one passenger. We will having a 90 minute ferry ride from Los Angeles WA to Victoria BC.So, no more tables available for placing our sequence game. I went back down to the car I got my wife's cross stitch bag. We don't want her to be bored with the rainy day ferry ride.Enjoy a nice weather day if you have a chance. The views of the islands and such are wonderful during a sunny day. Smooth ride ahead!

We took the MV Coho from Port Angeles over to Victoria on Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful way to start our holiday. All the staff we interacted with were sweet, friendly, and nice. The package deal we got via the ferry was inexpensive. Sailing at 8 am is lovely, refreshing, and beautiful. There are duty-free stores, a gift shop, and a cafeteria. Not a very friendly price in the cafeteria so be prepared for a mini-dent in your wallet.I felt like this is the best way to Victoria. The seaplane was too noisy, and the Clipper too bouncy. The only complaint I had was that seated are not comfortable and that is enough. Also having a seat in front of the bathroom is annoying. Such a poor layout and design. Overall it is a great value for what we pay.

Kimberly P — Google review

Location has a lavatory for use while waiting for the ferry to dock. Not much shade. There is a waiting room if you don't wish to remain in your vehicle. The ferry itself is pleasant. There's a couple different viewpoints from it. Food was reasonably priced that I can remember. Volume didn't feel like they matched the price. Very effective use of space for vehicle loading within ferry, however it is very tight. Great on a beautiful day to be outside and just soak in your surroundings. Might even see some marine life!

Lynx C — Google review

Our third trip on the COHO. Wonderful time. They do a great job lining us up and getting us parked on the vessel. The ride across the strait is lovely. We sat up top for the sunshine but managed to stay out of the wind. Was fun to dance to the silly song they play. Didn't see any whales.

Brett S — Google review

This is a fun trip. The lineup before and after departure and arrival takea a while and there is little space to get out of your vehicle. Once you leave it, you can't get back in until back at shore. It is expensive but worth a try. There is plenty of indoor and outside seating and a nice gift shop. The views are amazing.

Jane C — Google review

I boarded the ferry as a walk-on passenger. The crew and staff were very polite, courteous, and helpful. They ensured you knew what side of the ferry to get off on, what paperwork you needed to have to get into Canada, and what you need to have to get back into the United States. Bathrooms were very clean, the ferry was very well taken care of, and I enjoyed my ride with them.

Michael H — Google review

Great ferry very easy to deal with. On time. We brought a car over which makes you have to be in line a little longer but that let you line up first and then walk around. Both ports have enough to do for a lunch or just being on the water. Great experience overall.

Andrew U — Google review

The ferry is pretty nice with free wifi and all. The facilities are pretty good and there is plenty of room to spread out. I went on the 9:30 cruise across the strait to Victoria and the sunset is beautiful. The embarking and disembarking process is pretty smooth.

Kiet T — Google review

Definitely book in advance, especially with a car. Overall, it was a very timely ferry trip, and had a smooth process. The boat ride itself was easy, albeit tight for space, and you cannot ride the ferry in your car - you must go upstairs. This is probably common knowledge to many, but was news for us. Overall, I definitely recommend this method to visit Victoria.

Christopher — Google review

The Black Ball Line has a long history operating ferries in these waters, but since the 1950s is reduced to a single ship, the M.V. Coho built in 1959, on a single route between Port Angeles WA and Victoria BC (Vancouver Island). During my most recent round trip in August 2023, with several friends and a 20 foot pickup truck, I found the service continued to be well organized, on-time, clean, and well-maintained to the best of my observation. There are plenty of places to ride, both outdoors (including the bow) and inside. Simple food and drinks are available, as well as a small gift shop. Boarding and disembarking ran smoothly, questions were answered clearly and graciously, and it was an excellent trip both ways. Vehicles are packed together very tightly aboard, which can make it difficult to get in and out.

This became a whale watching ferry trip for us! Two swam very close about half way through the trip (photo included). Comfortable, spacious, and a fantastic cafeteria with allergen-free foods. The swag shop was so inexpensive! The ferry was also inexpensive and buying tickets online was so easy. Super friendly crew and 360 degree access to viewing deck. The Mountain views were unbelievable. Drive in and out was simple and clear and felt so safe. Queue was well organized and quick! People-only tix are so inexpensive and I’d do this before paying for a whale watching tour (we went early AM).

We took the trip from Seattle to Port Angeles for an overnight stay in Victoria. With the COVID restrictions, we weren't sure if travel to Canada would be possible I called and spoke to the staff at Black Bell and they walked us through each step. They also let us modify our reservations when our COVID tests came back early. The staff is knowledgeable and provides excellent customer service.

We walked into the ferry in Port Angeles and took it over to Victoria. Our 2 round trip tickets were purchased online and cost $91. Picking up paper tickets at the ferry terminal and going through customs was very easy. We walked and used the inexpensive island bus system when we got there.

Always great service and punctuality at Black Ball Port Angeles .Small snack bar and gift shop aft.Upper deck with available extra seating. Not inexpensive. About $200.00 ROUNDTRIP.BUT......it's better and faster than swimming.

Smooth operations from ticketing to arriving with a few small hitches. Warning that the public lot across the street was full 2 hours before disembarking. Waiting room is spacious and clean. We left 30 minutes late. The ferry is a great vessel, fun to look around. The galley has lots of items and is usually opened right away. I got through the line just before everyone else rushed in, on both trips I had a bagel, a drink from the display, and ice cream. As much as you can stack in the cup for $4.50. I found the touring prices to be competitive and you get a 10% off galley food coupon. Gift store is fun. The duty free items weren't great. I'd recommend more local brands.

Shawn H — Google review

The ride over the water was very smooth. The staff are very organized. It was quite windy and rainy, but we enjoyed the deck, and my granddaughter went to the upper deck. However, the chili in the store is terrible and overpriced. My wife got severe stomach upset because of the chili which may be used and reused, and not fresh. Restrooms are clean the process of loading and offloading is quite smooth. All in all, we had a good time.

MUHAMMAD A — Google review

Point A to B, 12pm -3pm for the 12:30 ferry, seemed chaotic with little signage or direction. The vessel itself was interesting. The ferry was a step back in time, well maintained though. Canadian customs was , well... I wouldn't want to be there on a busy day when the ferry was full to capacity.

Daniel B — Google review

This was such an easy ferry ride! The terminals in both Port Angeles and Victoria are super clean. We did not have a car on this trip, we were just walking. Nice waiting areas with bathroom facilities that are easy access. Staff were on hand to help make sure all appropriate forms were filled out prior to boarding. The ferry itself is very clean and well maintained. The seats were comfortable enough we slept most of the 90 min trip. When we needed a snack the cafe had a good selection of pastries, soups, sandwiches, chips, fruit and candy. As well as a variety of drink options.

Cathleen M — Google review

Great one-stop shop for your trip to Victoria! You go to your website and get ferry tickets, hotel, and activities everything at once. The trip itself was quick and smooth. Plenty of places to sit. Food and drinks available for purchase on board.

Take your Dramamine if it's windy.Good and friendly service. They answered all of my questions. When booking keep in mind you have to be there 60 min early on the states side and 90 on the Canada side, so this cuts into a quick week trip.

Traveling with Black Ball Ferry Line provides a great experience for those journeying between Victoria, Canada, and Port Angeles, USA. With its convenient route and comfortable amenities, it's a popular choice for travelers crossing the Strait of Juan de Fuca. While on board, passengers can enjoy food options available until the US border, offering a chance to grab a bite before continuing their journey. However, it's worth noting that due to the high winds and swells that can occur, the boat may rock, potentially causing discomfort for those prone to seasickness. It's advisable to bring medication if you're susceptible to motion sickness. The crossing process can be time-consuming, with approximately an hour to 1.5 hours for processing by the CBP in Victoria and an additional 30 minutes before entering the US in Port Angeles. Additionally, the ferry itself takes at least 1.5 hours to cross the strait, so travelers should plan accordingly.Despite the time-consuming process, traveling with Black Ball Ferry Line offers a convenient and scenic way to cross the border between Canada and the USA. With its comfortable amenities and picturesque views, it's a journey worth taking for those exploring the Pacific Northwest.

This was a surprise trip from Washington to Butchart Gardens Christmas lights. My husband found a package deal with a round trip Ferry ride, one night at a local hotel, shuttle, and entrance to the Gardens. The ferry ride was great and took an hour and a half from Port Angeles to Victoria. The ferry staff was helpful and friendly. The MV Coho was in great shape, considering her age and amount of service! My negatives are the boarding and customs process. There wasn't any designated lined areas to begin boarding. Everyone was merging in, and it was a bit confusing, BUT most people were patient and tolerant. The food prices in the Galley were a bit steep, so some people had brought their own food. Overall, it was a great way to start and finish our adventure!

It was a memorable day sailing from Port Angeles to Victoria BC. Everything was top notch. The crew I interacted with was very helpful and courteous!

Larry C — Google review

This is a great , affordable way to get to and from Victoria BC, as either a walk-on or via car. The car decks are pretty cozy (even compared to, for example, Seattle ferries), but the crew does a good job of cramming all the cars in. The upper decks are spacious with plenty of seating options, either on the weather decks or inside. The galley (cafeteria) is basic but has lots of good choices. Bear in mind that, unlike other car ferries, you will not be able to stay in your car for the 90 minute crossing due to the international border (Coast Guard requirement).

Park

The seafront Fisherman's Wharf Park is an interesting corner of Victoria with a few small shops, food kiosks, and resident seals. It's perfect for a relaxing lunch by the harbour.

Fisherman's Wharf is home to many great shops, food kiosks, water taxis, fishing vessels, and yachts dock in the boat slips. The eastern end has a unique collection of float homes. In addition, there are several options for a snack or meal. Fish and chips seem to be a popular food choice for the location. The Wharf is a great place to book kayaking, whale watching, or board a ferry to a neighboring city.

Matthew C — Google review

A popular tourist attraction on the Victoria waterfront, near the floating homes (not houseboats). There are multiple food vendors, some of which also sell alcohol. Not all businesses were open on a Sunday evening.Expect crowds, but a fun spot to find and enjoy the waterfront, especially at sunset.Water taxis available to take you anywhere around the harbor for $12/person one way. There is a parking lot near the children's playground. The area is walking distance to Old Town. There is one restroom on the dock.

Beautiful place to spend the entire day with friends and family. They offer kayaking and whale watching experiences. There are a few food joints, but I wish there were more varieties available specifically for vegetarian.

Cute and touristy. A must see while in Victoria. Free to walk around just have to pay for parking but can find free parking along side roads if you’re willing to walk. Lots of restaurants/food options. One souvenir store. And the rest are private residences. Great photo op. Fun to watch the sea taxis come and go.

M&M T — Google review

Great place to end your walking tour throughout Victoria. It’s a bit further away from the main touristic sights but it’s definitely worth a trip to see the floating houses and for a drink with some food. You can take the water taxi back to the main sights!

It's a lovely harbour front with site seeing planes taking off, cruise ships, houseboats and water taxis! We even managed to catch an otter munching away on a crab. There is also a great area with food trucks!! Plenty to see and everyone was super friendly!!Photos from our stroll from hotel to Fisherman's Wharf

Man,we loved this place!!! Great tiny little restaurants and bars on the water across from a marina. Heads up, some of these quaint little houses are available through Air BnB so check before you book a hotel. You can walk right into the heart of the city from there. Beautiful views at night when all the lights come on. Worth the visit. You will need at least three or more days to take in all that is offered in this city. Enjoy!

rossifumifan1 — Google review

Pretty cool place and a beautiful view of the city. Couple of food places here that are pretty pricey, and can get quite crowded. Cool place to go to see some unique floating houses though. Would recommend.

We took a water taxi from the inner harbor (I highly recommend this (the captain was fantastic). The houses at Fisherman's Wharf were very interesting! We were there before lunch, not much to buy to eat for that time frame, and hard to find an iced coffee. Places had broken ice machines, mini donut place closed. But definitely a great place to visit. Only 1 shop with art/souvenirs.

Nice place, very cute with nice fisherman houses. Very colorful, with nice cute houses to take a pictures. Also there are nice little restaurants. I didn't went to any of them, but I believe food is really good because there was a line of people.

Absolutely beautiful. Breathe taking views, wonderful atmosphere. There's an eatery area with a great selection of foods and treats etc.Really cool place to hang out and see.Highly recommend the water taxi as well.

A popular tourist attraction. There are many shops, and homes on the pier, and also there is a beautiful park as well. There are also many places to eat, as well as many ferry/tours in the area. This is one of the best places to go, as there are so many people and it's a very fun place to meet up with your friends. Would recommend!

Lovely place with colourful buildings on the water. In the place you can see restaurants, ice cream shop, galleries and houses. There are public washrooms in the place. Really nice atmosphere. Next to the place there is a big lawn and small playground. There is a pay parking lot and free parking spots on the street. Highly recommended to visit here.

Beautiful walk in the sun on the dock. Lots of food and drink choices. Both water taxis available for affordable tours of the harbour. And gorgeous park across the road for the kids.

SEA L — Google review

A nice place for a leisurely walk near waterfront. They have good seafood and treats during the day. But many shops closed or closed early in winter months. Still a nice walk and enjoy the view. Check before you go if you plan on dining there in winter months. They do have parking nearby or street parking.

Fisherman's Wharf in Victoria is a hidden treasure in a hidden corner of Victoria's Inner Harbor. This is a unique beach destination where food stalls, unique shops and eco-tourism adventures are found in the heart of the port. Stroll around the harbor with lunch, buy fresh seafood from the boat, see the interesting ships moored and colorful water houses, and the peaceful Fisherman's Wharf! 🌊🐟🚢

It’s a very nice place. I was lucky enough to see seals and other animals. The sea water is also very clean.

We walked from our hotel all the way along the waterfront of Victoria's Inner Harbour, along David Foster Way, to Fisherman's Wharf. The colourful houseboats were a picturesque and eye-catching sight! It was fun to wander and admire the charming (some not so charming!) floating homes. There were food and ice cream kiosks, and places for booking tours. We spotted seals in the water. Well worth a visit.

Fisherman's Wharf Park is a charming destination nestled along the waterfront, known for its scenic views, boathouses, and bustling atmosphere. However, during the winter season on weekdays, it experiences a slight decline in the number of open restaurants. While this may be disappointing for food enthusiasts, it presents a unique opportunity for visitors to enjoy a quieter ambiance and indulge in other activities. One advantage of visiting Fisherman's Wharf Park during the weekdays in winter is the reduced crowd. With fewer people around, it becomes an ideal setting for capturing mesmerizing tourist photos. Whether you're an amateur photographer or a seasoned pro, the park's picturesque backdrop, featuring a combination of boats, water, and charming architecture, provides endless opportunities for stunning shots. The absence of large crowds also means you won't have to worry about navigating through masses of people, enhancing your overall experience.Besides photography, taking a leisurely walk alongside the boathouses is a delightful way to soak in the park's serene atmosphere. The winter air lends a crispness to the surroundings, making it a refreshing and invigorating stroll. You can observe the boats docked along the marina, admiring their unique designs and imagining the adventures they've embarked upon. The quieter period during weekdays allows for a more immersive experience, allowing you to appreciate the tranquility and beauty of the surroundings. While the reduced availability of open restaurants may be a downside for those seeking a culinary experience, it shouldn't deter you from visiting Fisherman's Wharf Park during winter weekdays. Instead, consider it an opportunity to explore nearby cafes or eateries that do remain open, offering a chance to try something new or indulge in a cozy meal. Additionally, you can always plan your visit accordingly by bringing your own snacks or picnic items to enjoy in the park while embracing the peaceful ambiance. In conclusion, Fisherman's Wharf Park during winter weekdays may experience limited restaurant options, but it compensates with a quieter atmosphere and ample opportunities for photography and leisurely walks by the boathouses. If you're looking for a chance to capture stunning tourist photos or simply enjoy a serene waterfront experience, this can be an ideal time to visit. So grab your camera, bundle up, and immerse yourself in the scenic beauty and charm of Fisherman's Wharf Park.

Completely out of this world. So cool, it drove me nuts. Actual real floating village with residents. Just fantastic!!!!!Please note: If you are a careless parent, there is nothing there to stop your "king child" to tip over in deep waters. It may look like a playground, but it's not.

kaptainkanguru101 — Google review

Very touristy but go during daytime hours so you can check out the piers with the floating homes, those were pretty neat. Can also scope some commercial fishing vessels at the far end piers. Lots of vendors, drinks, food, and souvenir shops for tourists.

Visitor center

Olympic National Park Visitor Center is a popular place to visit in Port Angeles, Washington. It has exhibits about the park and information about activities like hiking and backpacking. There's also a kids' Discovery Room. The center is open daily 8:30am-5:00pm.

We were visiting Olympic National Park for the weekend and decided to stop in and let the kids get their JR ranger badges and see what else we could learn while there. This is a fun place to stop for kids that need to get their wiggles out. The Park Rangers are so helpful and know how to have a good time with the kids. I highly recommend a stop in when visiting Olympic National Park. Small gift shop, clean restrooms and lots to learn as well as walking trails straight from the parking lot. Also a great photo OP area with the welcome sign which has easy parking near it for photos. Enjoy!

Gemsofthewild — Google review

Lovely visitor center that feels more like a small museum. There’s plenty of clean and informative exhibits here and fun activities for children. There’s even a theater! There’s bathrooms outside and they’re pretty maintained. Also bear cans in the back.

Sarah Y — Google review

This visitor center is located just outside the town at the base of the mountains. Amazing views as soon as you get to the town. You can see Vancouver Island Canada across the water from the VC and great views of the town as you head up the mountain. The visitor center itself was fairly basic. A small interactive display area and basics of Olympic NP. Their is a little children's area that the littles enjoyed. We got info about the road up which was closing due to incoming snow storm.(late April) kids completed a Jr Ranger book and got a Seascapes one to take to earn a patch. The Ranger was very helpful.

Nikhil M — Google review

Very nice visitor center! Went with family, my niece and nephew enjoyed the kid's discovery room with lots of activities for them to do. The museum was very interesting mainly focused on the wildlife in the area. Gift shop was a small but decent variety of items. I was pleasantly surprised they sold the National Parks Passport sticker sheets, I did not come prepared and did not bring my booklet to get a cancellation stamp so I was able to purchase a sheet of the stickers to stamp. They also have a Junior Ranger stamp next to cancellation stamp for anybody wondering.

Another great visit to the Peabody Trail (way less muddy than my Feb visit) and got to explore the Living Forest Trail and visitors center this trip. Great trails for a little Mother Nature time when you aren't in the mood for a hard/long hike but want some heart & soul soothing 💗

Regena W — Google review

I love this park. The hurricane ridge is a super developed hike with a road going all the way to the top. Highly accessible while offering insane views of the Olympic mountains, Mt Baker, and Canada. A must see on the Olympic peninsula. The visitor center here is one of the nicest as well.

Suyash A — Google review

This is the park's main visitor center and is a great source of knowledge for your trip. The exhibits are fun and very interesting. Expect to pick up all the souvenirs you can handle from the gift shop. There is also a live camera feed of Hurricane Ridge so you can plan your trip into the park before you commit to the drive.

Michael B — Google review

I own an America the Beautiful pass so no paid entry for me. No one really checked for my pass though, strangely. There's a lot of residents around the park. Campgrounds too.Hurricane Ridge VC burned down so the area has limited entry to those trails. A bunch of back and forth to get to stuff. My day trip included Devil's Punch Bowl, a couple of trails around Lake Crescent, Madison Falls, then up to Elwha Trailhead to see the ocean. Elwha entrance looks like a private residence which it is, but the public has trail access behind the gate. Limited parking.

Ashley C — Google review

Such a gorgeous park. If you plan to explore Olympic and soak it up fully, expect to be in the area for several days as there is SO MUCH beauty to see!! Don’t sleep on the loop just outside of the Visitor Center! It is gorgeous! Wish I had more time but will definitely be back again!

Heather G — Google review

Absolutely breathtaking! By far one of the best national parks I’ve been too!The drive up is breathtaking and the views hiking are memorizing. Tons of ravens and mule deer to keep company with on our hikes. The visiting center and rangers were very helpful! Lots of information and fun to explore and learn new things about this regions ecosystem and wildlife.

Brittney C — Google review

Not a large visitor center, but with very helpful people. Also the bathrooms are outside so possibly available when they’re closed. The park is great for hiking in this area. There are hikes you can bring your dog on and some you can’t. They’ll give you great suggestions here.

Not a drive thru park even if the roads are good and well maintained. Tons of trails. Went to Hurricane Ridge and Madison Falls today. The road was washed out after Madison Falls toward Glines Canyon Spillway. The Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center burned to the ground in May this year. Still beautiful views. I will update as we see more of the park

Charles B — Google review

Such diversity, so much to see. We loved our trip!

Jamie M — Google review

Great place to stop for information on the park, not only just hurricane ridge info, but also the coastal and Hoh rainforest

Apf M — Google review

The introductory video provided an overview of the variety of landscapes that the park preserves. The museum area is minimal but does offer a 3-D map of the park, so you can see the lay of the land. The comfort station (restroom) is a welcome attraction when one has been out and about for some time. There are two trails here. We took the Living Forest (1/2 mile loop). Except for the short uphill section, the walk was in and out of the shade. Offered a variety of trees and plants and a nursey of new life.

Christopher L — Google review

Probably one of the best secret-not-so-secret views of the Olympics in the northwest. Sad to see the visitor center burned down, so don't expect any services. For an amazing view of Mt. Baker on a clear'ish day stop at the view point just before the first tunnel going up, you can see the entire valley, the ocean and Mt. Baker, it's am amazing sunset shot if you are photographer.Be advised though, our population is growing at an astounding rate, so be prepared for very large crowds, get there before 8am on a weekend and you should be fine.

The Royal BC Museum is a world-class museum in Victoria, British Columbia. It has permanent galleries and interactive exhibitions that explore the natural and human history of British Columbia as well as the world within its world-class exhibitions. The Royal BC Museum also features a IMAX movie theatre.

This is such an awesome experience! I enjoyed the Orcas exhibit 🥺❤️ I loved how they explained things such as climate change, global warming, plastics, saving our mother nature. This touched our hearts. So far, this is the best museum I have ever been in. I will never forget my experience here and will definitely be back again ❤️I thank everyone who made this possible, the effort you put into this is very much appreciated. The setup was amazing, everything is interactive and educational. There is also a great collection about indigenous people which are all so inspiring. But, of course the best of all, the natural history of BC. From historical to current records of all living things. Information after information after information, it’s crazyyy but we love it! ❤️❤️❤️You can buy tickets online to avoid the line up. But, staff here are so fast so you wouldn’t really feel like you’re waiting. 😊

Great museum has very nice and extensive exhibits. I went there when they had the wildlife photo-journalism exhibit which was a interesting one. It wasn’t busy whatsoever but I did go on a rainy Sunday around 3:00. Would definitely recommend going. It also seems like there was a third floor exhibit but for some reason it’s closed and I don’t know why. Maybe it will be open sometime in the future.

Nik G — Google review

We enjoyed the wild life photography exhibit. The Chinatown inside the museum is very cool - so much details! So is the mammoth scene, forest scene with deers & elks, and the ocean front scene.

A well curated museum.A must visit when in Victoria.Right now though only the nature history wing is open and tickets as low as $5 is being charged. Will like to visit when the renovations are over to look at the rest of their fabulous collections.

This is one of the best museums we have visited. It has natural history, art, First People cultural history, and an interactive town/ship/ mine from British colonial history. Really great. Two weeks ago, that section was closed for remodel. I'm hoping it is still as awesome as ever when it reopens.

Kathleen F — Google review

Impressive amount of varieties of contents and installations. One of the most interesting places to visit in Victoria.Recommended to check what exhibitions they're running before visit.Great for families with kids.Indoor with air conditioning.(Tickets are more affordable than the Butchart Gardens in Victoria...)

It looked small from the outside but surprisingly big for it's size. Decent amount of of exhibits I must have spent 2.5 hours here. Not busy here I guess it's slow season in mid-October.

Mark B — Google review

All the staff is extremely friendly and fun to interact with, especially the gift shop attendants and security. We had a lot of fun viewing the exhibits. The exhibits were very interactive which is great for making the museum more fun for kids. The gift shops have a good variety of pricing to suit all peoples budgets.

Justine B — Google review

Good exhibit but some areas are closed. We missed the IMAX as we were on a tight schedule. Kids really enjoyed the aquarium areas.

Rafael A — Google review

Great place to visit and learn about the ice age and stuff. They even had a showing of covid portraits which was cool.Likes: it was cheap. $5 per person and it was absolutely worth it. Lots to see and learn.Dislikes: Nothing I can think of

James A — Google review

Had an amazing time!! The exhibits are so huge too. Did not do the IMAX portion this time, but I heard that it's a good option, especially if they are showing movie/documentaries that pair with current exhibits, like they are currently doing with their Cambodia exhibit.

Sydney D — Google review

Some of the exhibits are undergoing renovations. However, the ones that remain open are still enough to spend a few hours learning about the natural history of British Columbia. 🤩I really enjoyed the titles of some of the information paragraphs. They use catchy phrases to hook our attention. 🤓😁

Leo M — Google review

I took my best friend here for her very first visit to Victoria BC. I knew that some exhibits were going through renovations but for the price of $18 we definitely enjoyed our visit! The wildlife photography exhibition was spectacular. Each photo was so beautiful and mesmerizing! The main exhibit on the 2nd floor is definitely my favourite! I've been 3 times over the last few years and I always find something new I didn't notice in the previous visits. The mammoth/seal lions/displays are so realistic! On this visit a friendly worker told us about the drawers in the aquatic room! Underneath the crab shell displays there were drawers that you can open to see even more shells which we thought was super cool!Overall a great way to spend 1-2 hours in Victoria.

Erica L — Google review

Great exhibitions as usual! I went during family day weekend when they had free admission for under 19's. It was very busy but lots of fun!Lots of the museum was closed/didn't have anything set up, but even so, touring the exhibits that they did have took us around 2 hours! Very interesting stuff, I love mammoths!!!

Chloe L — Google review

Both husband and I enjoyed the museum. It is bigger than it looks on the outside. Liked the exhibitions they had but wished there was a permanent indigenous exhibit. We also went to an IMAX film and enjoyed that as well. The combo pack was around $40/ person.

Jeannot A — Google review

Always an adventure, but this time around, with the Dinosaur exhibit, I was in my element. They have an amazing and meticulous way of setting up their exhibits. 10/10 is a great way to spend some time in Victoria ( especially in the fall and winter)

Kay S — Google review

I'm sorry but this museum is so tired, it hasn't changed in many years since I visited or if it has those sections are closed. The entrance is and remains uninspired with that grey plaza. There is no art on the walls it is the same white paint throughout, broken escalators on our visit, and small entrances to the exhibits often overcrowded as there is no staff directing people. We did enjoy the one staff member talking about owls. The photography exhibit was good. The gift shop is large.

Robert D — Google review

Free during a holiday. However, you will see a lot of people and their kids running from left to right or screaming. Be prepared.Lovely place, otherwise.

Ederson E — Google review

Royal BC museum has lots of displays dedicated to the history of dinosaurs in the province of BC. Apart from that it also has nice models of the wildlife in the province which look so realistic. Be it the animals in land, in the waters or under the earth.

Ferries

BC Ferries is an essential transportation option for travelers heading to Victoria, as there are no roads connecting the destination. The ferry provides a smooth and efficient loading and unloading process for vehicles, making it a convenient choice for visitors. Onboard amenities include lounges, entertainment areas, a kids' playroom, washrooms, and balconies where passengers can enjoy scenic views during the journey.

Very clean nice people to direct you and easy to navigate. I went over in my car to Victoria they announced when we could return to our cars closer to shore and we drove off very easily. You will not be able to just stay in your car but you have computer stations throughout the ship. I loved it!

Love the ferries always (usually)relaxing great scenery staff ate fine. My problem is you took away smoking and vaping everywhere. Not even one smoke spot. Not very inclusive.

Its a cute little get away in surrey. If you like to go on ferry. The ferry ride makes it all interesting we had so much fun out there!! But the fare is bit expensive. Overall good experience!!

Jaspreet G — Google review

I can't say enough about our experiences with BC Ferries. We are from the prairies and visiting family in BC. We used many different ferries over the course of two weeks and as first time users, found what we thought would be an intimidating procedure went as smoothly as possible. Loading and unloading vehicles onto its ferries is something BC Ferries has down to a science; well-timed and efficient on every ferry we used. The restrooms onboard each vessel were the cleanest public washrooms we experienced during our trip to the west coast. There is signage indicating if restrooms are not the best they can be, to notify any crew member immediately. Staff at ticket windows and on-board were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We enjoyed all of our sailings and felt comfortable and safe. Thank you BC Ferries - you move hundreds of people like ourselves every sailing and you do it extremely well.

Joanne S — Google review

Classic BC Government employees at their worst. Tried calling in to speak to someone but after 2 hours I hung up. Not one employee clearly has taken customer service training at the terminal either. If this outfit could be avoided I’d suggest it but sadly when you need to travel it’s a necessary evil. Web site booking isn’t overly intuitive or straightforward. Typical non-contact set up where they’re more than happy to take your money but provide minimal customer service 👎

GRL E — Google review

Recently experienced my first of several voyages on the BC Ferries. It is amazing how quickly and efficiently they process passengers and vehicles on and off the ship. I downloaded the App, which made booking reservations easy. It was very helpful seeing the real time updates of ship capacity nearing our departure time. Every ship we sailed on had immaculately clean washrooms.

Eric S — Google review

Lovely ride. Great views. Restrooms easy to find and we're clean and equipped. We had the first trip of three morning and needed to get breakfast. Waiting for the limited hot offerings, as the cashier, cook and waiter was all the same person, took time. But he was nice.We then got donuts from the kiosk set up outside. They were fresh, sweet and greasy!Make sure you listen to the hard to hear directions about returning to your car (& remember the level and placements of your parking spot!). Driving onto and off the ferry was easy. We happened to get in the wrong customs line- very chatty customs officer, and ended up being the last car in the lot! Another officer finally called us over to his line so we could pass!Had a nice talk with several passengers.

Love the day trip traveling where you can do a short get away sightseeing, the best part is seeing sunset over the clear water when you head outside. Food is actually not bad and worth the line up but get there early for a seat. Also, you can lounge for $14. Recommended not peak times to travel

I recently took the BC Ferry from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay, the same journey I took almost 30 years ago.Suffering from jetlag, with no idea how to get a ticket, where get on board, or what to do at the other end of my journey, the staff at both terminals, and the team on the ferry itself, made the whole process as simple and as enjoyable as it was all those years ago.Having rushed late out of my hotel, I had not eaten at all that day. That's wasn't a problem! The cafe on board the ferry had exactly the kinds of breakfast I was looking for: coffee and something simple to eat, all for a fairly reasonable price.Fortunately, both my outbound and return journeys had perfect weather so quickly finding a seat outside on the upper decks afforded me fabulous views of the islands, the houses, and even some of the local residents, as we slowly powered our way between the ports.Once at my destinations, retrieving my luggage, which I had checked in, was simple and fast. I don't know why everyone doesn't do it. Then, getting transport from the terminals was simple as walking out the door.If only everything in life was as easy as catching a BC Ferry!

Peter J — Google review

I'm giving a bad rating because I think the ferries need to change. We need more focus on passengers and less on cars(better food and seating at terminals, more passenger only ferries). We need access to city hubs not remote hard to get to locations (ie Vancouver to Victoria). We need accessible affordable food (proper meals not tiny poorly cooked burgers). BC ferries has a monopoly in BC and they need to give us better service.

Tyler K — Google review

From long lineups to cancellations to broken down elevators to those terrible sounds of car horns blaring to interrupt my ferry ride if I choose to stay in my car, BC ferries has little to offer. Yet at times one must get to an island. Or travel to the mainland. If you stand on deck at least BC views do not disappoint.

Azalea — Google review

If you havent been on a ferry this is a must, also its the only option to go to Victoria as there is no road. Your car will directly drive into a Ferry and then you can go on upper deck where there are lounges, entertainments, kids play room, washroom and balcony and even walk around the ferry and enjoy the nice view. One less star as it is the only option and I paid about 350$ for back and forth ride for one car which seems quite expensive especially considering its the only option to Victoria. Any how the trip and service itself is well worth it. Few tips plan your ride on a nice day as if its rainy you wont be able to go on the deck, also catch the second last ferry on the way back as on peak season if for any reason if the last ferry is fully booked or you are late there is no other option other than paying high hotel price in Victoria for one night untill you get another ferry next day. Check out images and Follow for more.

Nature & Parks

Neighborhoods

This park is home to 200 acres of well-maintained landscape with a variety of trees and gardens. It's also near downtown Victoria, making it easy to go for a walk or run. There are plenty of activities available, including a petting zoo and the world's fourth tallest totem pole. The views from the park are stunning, and it's a great place to relax after exploring Victoria or taking in some of the citys attractions.

Amazing and beautiful walk. If you like to feed ducks. Do not forgot to bring your bird seed. We saw some peaco*cks in the park.Nice place to do some bike ride, I guess. We are in a hurry at the time we are here. Make sure to send more hours to really appreciate the park.

Tere A — Google review

This is one of the coolest city parks I've been to. It seems to shift in ecosystem so drastically as you walk through it. It is well maintained and the park staff have been very open to questions. It is a lovely way to make your way to the shore, with many different paths to explore. The summer concert series was absolutely delightful, and I look forwards to next year. Be warned: there is a lot of water fowl poop in some areas, so look before you sit!

Jay K — Google review

Great place to visit. Beautiful scenery and a great place for kids. There was a water play area and playground. Pretty blooming flowers and lots of animals. Free roaming peaco*cks, herons, and lots of ducks. Be careful of the heron nesting area, amazing, but be sure to keep your mouth closed, while looking up.

Ilker G — Google review

Gorgeous park with lots of paths for walking. The flowers and trees are quite beautiful and well taken care of. There are lots of little ducks everywhere and cute little squirrels and birds. Beautiful place for a relaxing walk. We enjoyed exploring and highly recommend a visit! The Moss Lady is quite a treat to see!

Sherry R — Google review

Beautiful park. Now that there isn't any tents everywhere you can appreciate the beauty of the park again! They have ponds everywhere, and flower gardens that are well maintained, and the wildlife has returned to the park. Highly recommend coming to the park for an hour. Lots of space to read a book or just enjoy life.

One of the best parks here in Victoria. The best for joggers and cyclists. The Beacon Hill Children' s farm in here is a major attraction for kids and adults with a petting zoo. This beautiful park is full of majestic dancing peaco*cks , Goose's and Ducks and tonnes of Herons

Anudeep S — Google review

Beautiful, large and so many different features to look at. Expect to see deer roaming here as well along with peaco*cks and a farm-ish area (that part is payment for entry required).

CY S — Google review

Big family friendly park. They have a petting zoo here the entrance fees are "suggested" so you donate whatever amount you feel like. The park also has these Peaco*cks roaming freely🦚which is super cool.If you are able, explore the park by bicycle as the park is quite big may take a while to walk the whole thing.b

Wing C — Google review

Such an interesting place! The bird watching is amazing here you can see beautiful peaco*cks and a variety of other birds. We rode our bikes around but definitely nice for a stroll or hike as well. Lots of trails, play grounds, lake. Lots to do.

Natassia G — Google review

Well maintained and beautiful! If you keep going south towards the water you'll find peaco*cks 🦚 and a animal zoo which is cute. The peaco*cks roam freely and are docile as long as you don't get too close. Lots of amazing things to see here!

Laura W — Google review

Amazing sight to behold here. The peaco*cks, Canadian geese, and cranes fill the air with noise. The pathways and restroom facility are well maintained. The big trees, willows, and unique vegetation make for plenty of sights. Go to the beach after your walk in the park for an amazing contrast of nature.

Corbin R — Google review

What a beautiful park! So much to see and so many different areas to explore. We particularly liked the Moss Lady (harder to find than we thought!), the largest totem pole we have ever seen, all the different little lakes, and the stone bridge. We walked through this park to get to Spiral Beach, and we were glad we did. Great place to spent a few hours.

Simone T — Google review

This is a beautiful and well thought-out park. There is a really tall totem pole, a tennis court, a lawn bowling (croquet for the Americans), a long beach walk, a series of groomed, wood chip trails through woods as well as concrete and a children's playground. While we were there we were lucky to come across a peaco*ck, sparring for crumbs with a squirrel and an owl we interrupted the lunch hunt for. There were many birds, squirrels and creatures talking and singing as we walked through the woods. The beach trails is impressively long and gorgeous. There are many flowers still blooming in mid-June along the walking path. There is an unfenced, grassy area between the road and the beach path where dogs are allowed off leash. On the path, they are requested to be on-leash.The park is not large but packs a lot in for the space it takes. I would highly recommend a visit.Parking is free for up to three hours and thirty minutes. Washrooms are available in a brick and mortar building and are automatically flushing. They are gendered however.

Kelly K — Google review

A rather large park that's close to the Victoria harbour area.We visited in late June and found a pretty little enclosed rose garden. We kept hearing some weird noises in the background and finally realized it was the wild peaco*cks that they have roaming the gardens. It was pretty amazing to see them just casually walking around the gardens... And I know they're birds but seeing them fly was surprising too. Definitely worth a visit just to see them.

Penny S — Google review

Wow. What a beautiful park. So much to see. I don't think we came close to seeing all of it. The flowers are so beautiful & the whole park is so well kept. There are so many different animals to see here. It actually used be a zoo back in the day. It's not anymore but there is a little petting zoo for the kids. & Also a playground area for this kids as well. A lot of dog friendly area but some areas you can't take the dog do to different wildlife. Which I thought was great. All in all we loved this park we went on our last day & we were so happy we did. Also. Don't forget The Moss Lady. She was being renovated when were there but she was still great to see!!

Christina K — Google review

Pretty park. Very relaxed walk with options to go down to the beach. Check out the tallest free-standing totem pole; when I visited, there was a bald eagle perched on top of it. Nice ocean views as well.

Lauren O — Google review

Absolutely 💯 amazing public park. The public gardens are beautiful and extensive. There are lots of water features, benches to enjoy the views. Trails all throughout the park that are wheelchair 🦽 accessible. There is plenty of parking available and public washrooms. There is so much to see that you have to come. My wife and I love this park. There are things for all ages to enjoy here. There is a nice petting zoo here also. Whenever we are in the Victoria area we always make time for this park.

Kirk D — Google review

Nice park. Long, not so wide. Good walk to the waterside. Nice trees and walking paths. The longest totem was adorned with a bald eagle on top. Great! Good for walking after diner or having a BBQ.

Theo V — Google review

A relaxing park with a lot of green, water, ducks etc. . Recommended. The children farm is close for the winter, but can still be partly looked into from the outside, as they still take care of the animals there. There is 3.5 free parking around, especially for the park visitors.

First time visiting this lovly park. Many things to see animal, moss lady, big water pouring, etc. Fun parks to ride bike and make multiple stop enjoy sight seeing. Everyone is so nice. Had a very good time. Recommended 💚

I am from the east coast, visiting family here in Victoria for the holidays. Beacon Hill Park is a wonderful place to go for a nice walk, lots of gorgeous scenery and views. Love the feeling of being in the middle of nature in the city. Lots of peaco*cks around. The trails are in great condition, you can choose to stay on asphalt walkways or venture onto groomed paths. Even though it was late December, some plants are already in bloom. I only saw a small park of the park, will definitely visit again.

Ridge

Sights & Landmarks

Hurricane Ridge is a mountainous area that offers skiing and snowboarding facilities in winter and hiking trails in summer. At an elevation of 5,200 feet, the ridge offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Olympic range, Strait of Juan de Fuca, and Vancouver Island. Visitors can take guided tours or explore on their own. The viewpoint is highly accessible, with many paved trails suitable for families. It's recommended to arrive early as the place gets crowded quickly.

Highly accessible viewpoint at the top the Olympic mountain range. Great place to stop for lunch with a view, head up some wonderful hikes, or start at longer backpacking trip.I definitely recommend getting there early as this place fills up fast, you'll see a lot of families around the shorter paved trails.

Choose a sunny day to visit, and views are totally rewarding. wheelchair accessible, drive all the way to the top possible in July, Aug. We were sceptical as we encountered the marine layer spreading, while we were driving up (3:30pm), but at the top it was clear day blue Sky spectacular view of cascade mountain peaks, deers grazing, soaking in the warmth very close to car parking. We took the ferry to Kingston from Seattle, visited lavender farm in sequim, and then drove up to hurricane ridge

T P — Google review

Ok, there is now limited parking of 275 cars or so due to unfortunate fire that burned down a main cottage. We arrived at the top at 715AM, and it was no problem to find parking, I think even around 9AM, it's still fine. Don't forget to drive to the end of the road passing the burned cottage. There are two more parking areas above it. From there, you take hiking trip to the top of the hill, the views are awesome!!

Jaro P — Google review

Incredible views. Thought we could use our discovery pass.. Found out we couldn't. With as high up as it is feel like they needed more barriers. I like that the trails were marked so we knew we wye going the right way. There were many signs of no parking but there was plenty. So I didn't understand that and got there around noon. The rangers we spoke to didn't seem very friendly. I'm sure there's quite a few first timers up there, so you'd think they'd be not open on giving information. Seen nothing on what time the trail closes.

Heather Z — Google review

Breathtaking scenery of the snow-capped mountain ranges. The hike is also awesome.

Bill B — Google review

Spectacular views even if we drive through, need not hike. The roadway to the top of the hill has many viewpoints where we can stop by and see.The top of the hill is windy and cold but the views are worthy

Kruti G — Google review

Very scenic drive. Roads are extremely well maintained. There was some construction today that I believe runs through September. Slight delays close to the top as a one lane road was in place.Paved trails were lovely. Worth a trip.

April A — Google review

Wonderful view of the Olympic mountain ranges and wild flowers. Bunch of easy hikes near the parking lot. Expect to drive uphill close to 15 miles from the national park office. Limited parking up top. You will have to wait like 15 mins for the spot. The entrance closes around 10 am as they have temporary potty in the parking. If it fills, they put notice in the bottom that it’s closed. Try to go as early as possible.

K.P. P — Google review

We drove up to the top of Hurricane Ridge after a slow morning with coffee and pastries in Port Angeles. The drive is slow but with amazing views capped with sweeping vistas when you get to the top. It looks like the visitor center burned to the ground recently and the building was being rebuilt so much of the area is closed and construction crews were hard at work. There are some short trails in the area great for bird watching and we also discovered this is a ski area during the winter.Worth the trip up here and can be confirmed by the crowded parking lots.Michael DelehantyCompass Real Estate

Michael E — Google review

Had a great time hiking yesterday. The gate into the park doesn’t open until 9 am so don’t come earlier. The walk to the actual th for Hurricane Hill was about a mile & half.

Get there super early! Or they won’t let you in. They get very crowded in the summer. But it was beautiful. We saw lots of deer!

Briana B — Google review

Amazing experience to feel at one with the Olympic mountains. Lots of wildlife. Saw a mama bear and her cubs and tons of deer.

Jordan P — Google review

A little crowded on snowy days but it is hard to beat the nice roads, easy drive, pleasant Rangers and awesome view. Worth the trip. Stop in Port Angeles for a bite, too!

Jonathan H — Google review

Omg! Feels like you’re on top of the world! This is an amazing place. We tried 3 times to go up in 2023 and this was always closed due to wildfires. Currently they are losing 430 cars to go up and at 9:40 we were car 190. It was so worth it! Loved the trail walk, the view is breathtaking!

Teo S — Google review

Bring insect repellant ! There were yellowjackets everywhere from at the parking lot where the visitor center used to be to all the way at the top of the hike.No bathroom at the trailhead of this hike but portapotties are spaced out in the area.Hike is easy and relatively flat . A lot of view points along the way. There are benches too.Saw some bikers along the way .Due to it's popularity, you won't really have the trail to yourself and parking can be difficult to secure. I saw some people walking more than half of a mile to a mile away from the trailhead as they had to park random spots or other small lots. The overflow lot had no space. Be prepared to walk or spend 20 minutes circling or come here before 730am if on a weekend.

Lily — Google review

What an awesome spot to take in some of the most beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains. Easy to spot deers and other wild animals, as well as protected wild flowers. We love going snowshoeing in winter and having a picnic in summer!

AM — Google review

Beautiful place to visit. We drove from Olympia and it took us about 2 hours to get to the top of the mountain. There is a small hike as well if you would like to go in further. The weather was cold most of the time since it’s at 5000 feet above sea level and definitely recommend winter clothing. Must see place in Olympic National park.

Immanuel G — Google review

One of the most beautiful places you can go to. Go early because they limit amount of people that can visit. We arrived there around 8:00am and had no problem getting in.The views were spectacular! The trails were so beautiful we couldn’t get enough of the scenery. We went on a gloomy day and it was totally worth it. Definitely coming back here when the weather is clear

Nice place to visit. Weather is cool most of the time. Not much shade on the trail so it could hot if sunny. The day we visited, it was cold so a light jacket would be good.Lots of benches to sit and take breaks along the way.

Castle

Sights & Landmarks

The luxurious Craigdarroch Castle is a Victorian-era building that was built by the coal baron Robert Dunsmuir. The castle is open for tours and features beautiful stained glass windows and ornate woodwork.

A must visit place and felt like an architectural marvel. So much of fine wood work and luxury. It will literally take you through the Craigdarroch family's life. I'm so happy that the authorities have put some restrictions and cleanliness and crowd control. The amenities and objects they used were fascinating and the Castle looked like 3 floors maximum from outside but it's 4 or more floors I believe.

Jobin G — Google review

This is a neat, old castle that was built well over a hundred years ago. Unfortunately they were not allowing tours when we visited as repairs had to be made. That said, parking on the street is free and walking the grounds is as well. There is a large, grassy area on the north side that the neighborhood kids were playing football in.If you can get here for a tour, I think it would be well worth the fee. As is, I was able to enjoy some kids making use of the acoustics of one of the openings below parking level and snap several photos. There is a lot of history in Victoria and this is just one example.

Kelly K — Google review

A must-see when visiting Victoria. Lots of historical information and artefacts. Considering the various iterations of the building, the current stewards are doing a great job restoring the castle to its former glory. You get a real sense of life for the family that lived there. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Entry fee was reasonable at $20.

Karin H — Google review

Visited here during my trip to Victoria and it was absolutely worth it. My favorite part was the fact I was able to walk around freely without a tour. I personally am not a fan of tours with random people. There was staff however throughout the building incase you had questions and they were also super friendly and knowledgeable on the place. The place is an amazing piece architecture, with such deep history. Definitely a must visit if your looking for something to do.

Brett B — Google review

This is a relatively small castle. However, I spent almost 2 hours there! The staff and volunteers are super nice and helpful! They also show that they do care about the castle! If you have any questions, ask them! They gave me a lot of information outside the brochure! The restoration work is an ongoing process, so some of the rooms are not fully restored. I guess I could come back for a second visit after a few years!

Winnie N — Google review

I grew up going to this castle for my sisters music lessons, so it was so interesting to tour it and see it in all its historically restored glory. It's beautiful, inside and out. Details are given for you to read about the family that originally lived in it, and this was so interesting to read about.

Korinne C — Google review

The Craigdarroch Castle is a must see location when visiting Victoria. Not only is it beautiful and imposing, it is also steeped in history. The building itself is a delight to explore and to enjoy all of the handiwork that went into the construction. The tour booklet provided and the placards do a great job with providing the historical life of the home and the various individuals and groups who have occupied it throughout the years. In addition to the placards, the staff are wonderful and always ready to answer questions about the home.Overall, the $20 admission fee is more than worth it for the experience. I look forward to returning in the future.

This castle has such an overflowing walk through the history of Victoria, BC. From the history and biography of the family that once lived here to how this became a hospital. Then, becoming a place for students; just so much info to learn from. This place is a must visit. This just not educational, but also very Instagram worthy both inside and out. Speaking of ig worthy, this castle is well preserved; the woodwork here is remarkable; the stained glass and all the antique things are a symbol of how we move from generation to generation. 🥺I suggest to book ahead of time. When we were here last December 2021, we were kinda lucky to get tickets but the couple who came after us didn’t get the chance to go in because the walk-ins aren’t available anymore. The castle was quite packed that time even though it was already after 4:00 pm on a weekday while raining. You can’t miss this place, so try booking at their website in case walk-ins are full. 🫰🏻

Alondra B — Google review

This castle was amazing! Located in a neighborhood but had lots of parking! The inside was amazing! The history preserved done excellent 👌 the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable...they are currently working on restoring the original kitchen but worth the trip...masks are mandatory...

Angela V — Google review

This mammoth of a mansion is a must visit in Victoria. The place was originally built for Robert Dunsmuir and his wife Joan Dunsmuir in the late 1800's and is now open for tours. It gives us a glimpse of how privileged life used to be in olden times. The Castle Society has done a great job collecting all the newspaper references, history of the bungalow and its transformation across the years. The ticket cost was $39/person and I strongly recommend wearing masks for people with dust allergies. Sadly this place is not wheelchair accessible probably because the structure has only three floors of rooms and is too old to be modified to have accommodated a lift. There is free parking inside the Castle compound. However, if you are planning to park outside, make sure you park outside of the yellow curb line mark or you will get a ticket(for people new to Canada).

KRISHNA — Google review

This gorgeous castle has been well-maintained and is a dream to walk through. The restored rooms transport you back to the early 1900s and the information in each room tells about the family and uses of the rooms. Such an interesting history! We were entrances by the grandeur and beauty of this place! Lots of stairs, be prepared.

Wow!! Craigdarroch Castle is a must see while I'm Victoria. So much history here. I loved that there waa so much information as you walk through the castle. They are going to be doing some renovations soon I will definitely come back when they are all finished. I really enjoyed seeing all the old clothes & books etc. The castle itself it's so beautiful inside & out. Great architecture. I would highly recommend coming here.

Craigdarroch Castle is a must-visit in Victoria. It's rich in history, and I appreciated the abundance of information during the castle tour. The collection of old utensils, clothes and books was fascinating, and the castle's interior and exterior are beautifully designed with great architecture. I highly recommend a visit.

Went for a castle tour on a snowy afternoon in January. Pleasant learning activity on an inclement day. There were only two or three people in the house. We just did a self tour following the map that was given to us. We also took the time to watch the entire video that’s being continually, played in one of the rooms. That was really helpful to get a perspective on the history of the house. It’s in extremely good condition now and am thankful that the heritage society is able to get control of the building and maintain and restore this impressive building. We spent about an hour there and then walked through the neighborhood.

Chris S — Google review

This was an amazing and interesting place to visit. A lot of the Craigdarroch Castle has been carefully restored to what it looked like when it was built between 1887-1890, as well as most of the rooms contain most of the original furniture or with items that are from that era. There is lots to learn from visiting this National Historic Site. I would recommend this to anyone interested in Canada’s history.

We went on the last day of the Christmas event, it was busy but an interesting tour it was, 25,000 square feet place, very cool but they need to include the basem*nt mechanical room, in the tour.I seen the doors for the basem*ntThat would also be something to include in the tour... worth a visit ..

An interesting historical house museum. The building, spaces, and artifacts are interesting to experience by themselves, and there is lots of good interpretation for those with time to read. You can learn about the history of BC and the extremely wealthy family who built this mansion (one of 7 they built). The building went through many changes over the years and was a hospital and a university at one time. Worth a visit.

Matthew D — Google review

Really enjoyed this tour. The exquisite details and artifacts inside - as well as the able-minded docents made for an unforgettable experience. It was amazing to learn that the mansion's wealth came from the trade of coal, primarily bound for San Francisco. This all-stone building will stand the test of time. Fascinating mansion and a great tour.

Jonathan H — Google review

Took the guided tour and Echo was super dedicated to sharing every possible thing she knew about the castle.Definitely a good visit and a great look into the lives of the ultra rich of the late 1800s when the castle was built. Most of the castle has been restored and there’s WiFi too.

Great place! They have loads of signs for info on the 3 or 4 uses for this castle over the years. You get to see and can feel the greatness of the place. Its beautiful. They have a scavenger hunt for kids though it isnt to much for them. All and all a great place to stop in and see if your in the area!

Eggy — Google review

I always enjoy and appreciate historical buildings and architecture. This castle has a great and crazy history and you would never fully appreciate it until you take a tour. It was a home, hospital, and a school in all its years of existence!

Best priced tourist attraction we visited on the island. Being interested in castles, history and all the objects and information available I could have spent a whole day here, but it's still a good value of you simply enjoy walking through an impressive home and seeing how the very wealthy lived. Probably 60-90min to go through for the mildly curious and much more if you are interested in this type of attraction and all the information on hand.

The castle is beautiful. Enjoy visiting and seeing something different and learn new history back in the day. Entry fee about $20.

English Camp, located within the San Juan Island National Historical Park, is a preserved settlement from the mid-19th century. It offers visitors the chance to explore historic outbuildings and exhibitions while also providing opportunities for hiking through beautiful wooded areas. The site features an abandoned garrison that hikers can walk around above, giving them glimpses into life at this former military outpost. Additionally, there is a boat dock available for those who wish to arrive by water.

Nice historical site, with an old abandoned garrison that you can hike above, and walk around.

We had a special surprise. A Native tribe was having a ceremony when we arrived. We were told that it was the first native ceremony on that land in 200 years. It was very interesting and educational.

A cute surprise of a hike that has wonderful wooded areas - I just wish I had worn appropriate shoes for all the rainfall we've been getting this April!

Beautiful historic camp. The whole area is dotted with little boards which tell the history of the area which was nice to read. A few small walking trails spread out through the area

Great little park, really cool history, The buildings are well preserved, The English garden is perfect. Great place to spend the afternoon with your kids.

Arian D — Google review

This was a fun hike and quite fascinating to read the history of the place. I would go to the American camp on the other end of the island.

Kevin S — Google review

Really cool place to explore! Ocean views, historical buildings, wildlife & it's just green & beautiful. Enjoy!

Brynn P — Google review

Not a huge history buff but the staff here was really knowledgeable and happy to share the information they knew about the place.

Beautiful part of the island that is a must see! Learned some great American history and my son earned a junior ranger badge. Parking is plentiful and a short walk to the visitor center. Rangers were super nice and helpful. The 12 mins video in the visitor center was a great presentation of the history of English camp.

Beautiful preserved and enlightening historical park! The trails were well kept and neat. 🌲🥾 Aside from hiking, there is also a stunning formal garden and a blockhouse! It's pretty cool to see the houses across the bay, and the tree-covered Guss Island!

English Camp is a worthwhile stop. There are hiking trails, vistas and remaining buildings from the English military encampment. The vistas to the bay and the sculptured gardens come in to view after you hike in from the parking lot.

The San Juan National Historic Park is amazing....Why? Because#1. It is on an island. #2. The Washington State Ferry ride to and from the island is a treat. #3. There are two historic parts to this Park....The American Park and the English Park. #4. The American Park visitor center is brand new and opened recently. It is full of exhibits. The American Park has meadows, beaches, cliffs, and beautiful views of the ocean. If your lucky you may see deer, fox, and lots of birds including Osprey and eagles. #5. The English Park is in a heavily wooded conifer forest that opens up to the sea. Beautiful flower garden, nice trails, friendly volunteers, original buildings still on-site, large 300 year old maple tree on'site......#6. The island drive thru the island is beautiful. #7. Look for whales!!!! Along the coastline drive. #8. Spend time in town shopping and dining.

Walter ( — Google review

Very lush space, nice hiking trails with some elevation gain. One of the trails gains over 600 ft in around a mile of length. Get your legs moving and heart pumping. Beautiful views of San Juan Island and some of the waterways. Nice views of distant mountains on clear days.

Daniel A — Google review

This place is open all year round, but from May to September the museum is open and you can watch a movie about the war of pigs and this place. I recommend, very interesting!

Pelindaba Lavender Farm is a serene 25-acre expanse with stunning views of the Olympics. Visitors can explore the fields, participate in family workshops, and even cut their own lavender. The farm offers over 240 lavender products, including essential oils, lotions, and food items available at the gift store. Guests can also savor lavender-infused treats like ice cream and lemonade while taking in the picturesque surroundings.

GET YOUR LAVENDER HIT HERELike visiting the south of France. The farm is in the middle of the island and the drive is nice, through the countryside. The lavender was nearly done when I visited, but it still smelled wonderful. The gift shop is just lovely with so many products starring lavender, from lavender oil roll-ons to shortbread and everything in between. It's a lovely farm with cutting fields and the grounds are free to visit.

Most wonderful experience visiting Pelindaba Farms today. The shopkeeper gave us the grand tour and showed us around. Loved the store. Lavender for the kitchen! Lavender for your bath! Lavender for your pet! And more Lavender.....just in case! We will be back!

Lavender lemonade was really good. Their signature dish (beef savory something) was wrapped and cold😅 it tastes okay though. Maybe to keep it fresh for slow traffic. The farm is really nice picnic spot, and great for hanging out with friends/family/kids

If you're a lavender enthusiast or just curious, this is a stop for you. Informative displays, tea to sample, lot of gift shop items and a picnic area.Walk through the lavender fields and enjoy the setting.Displays include various stages of lavender plant growth. This can be a quick stop or you can spend some time here.

Quiet, low key tourist spot. It’s free to visit and walk around. You’re not obligated to buy anything. You can bring lunch and eat at one of their picnic tables by the fields. There’s a gift shop with all the local made lavender items they create, a small informational walk thru area behind the gift shop, and the option to cut your own lavender in the fields (you pay by the bundle). It’s honestly fun just to walk around the fields and take photos even if you don’t want to cut any to take home.Warning, there were a lot of bees in the fields in early August (in case you’re allergic).

Amber S — Google review

Beautiful scenery and a very amazing concept for the farm. The signs here tell a good story of how it came to be! The selection of lavender products was incredible and we tried many samplers and they were all very nice. The staff was super kind and helpful! Will come back

LOVED this place. SO glad we stopped. We wandered the lavender field and had a lemon lavender ice cream sandwich (which I typically don't like since I don't like flowery tasting food) but this was REALLY good. Definitely make a stop here if you are on the island.

Jill S — Google review

I love this farm!! We got some coffee in town and took a drive here and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We sat at the picnic tables and took in the views and explored the shop. We bought as much as we could that would fit in our suitcases. I'm hoping they have an online shop because I already want more of their lip balm and bath salts. Wonderful people!

Kat M — Google review

We've been in love with Pelindaba Lavender Farm for nearly 20 years. Their farm is a beautiful place to visit and they have the most incredible Lavender Ice Cream Sandwiches! They make so many wonderful products right there at the farm, you definitely don't want to miss checking out their store. If you're coming to the San Juan Islands this place should be one of your top places to visit.

Really wish we had more time to experience this stop on the island, we were loving all of the deliciously infused lavender products — especially the ice cream, lemonade, and chocolate! Can’t wait to return.

Love this lavender experience 💜The fields are astonishing, no matter the season there is something to see. They have nice pick nick tables to have lunch.🛍 They have a "gift shop" with everything lavender, foods, cleaning supplies, chocolates, essential oils. I recomend the lemon lavender sorbet, It's delicious.👤 Service is great, everyone is really helpful🚻 There are bathrooms on site.🅿️ They have free parking on site🐶 pet friendly

Beautiful fields to wander and a cute shop with so many lavender products to choose from! You can also cut your own bundle of lavender for $9. We didn’t spend a lot of time here, but it was fun!

Nature & Parks

The Olympic Game Farm is a long-established animal sanctuary that offers drive-through tours showcasing a variety of animals, many of which are native to the Pacific Northwest. Visitors can purchase bread to feed the animals and enjoy watching them up close from their vehicles. The experience can be both entertaining and educational for adults and children alike. It's recommended to buy plenty of bread as animals such as buffalo, deer, and yak are particularly fond of it.

First I loved this experience up closer and personal. There were at least 50 eagles chilling in this place that alone was amazing!!! Then, the beautiful peaco*cks were everywhere. The animals will literally put their whole heads in the vehicleLoves to see the bears and cats and wolves. We bought bread loads for 3 dollars each.

Lisa A — Google review

Nice and fun, worth the visit.Lady at ticket office is nice. Animals are nice and friendly. A lot of fan.It is pricy but worth the visit. When we get in about 11am at Wed there is no waiting. When we get out there are 3 car waiting. We bought 3 bags of bread and it runs fast. You may want to get more than 1 bag person.I do recommend this place. They even equipped a Dyson hand blower at bathroom.only thing unhappy is at gift shop. The old lady at gift shop was talking happily with all other (white) customers, but turn to a unhappy attitude on my turn of check out. As the only Asian customer at that time I feel confused. Or it could be she is not happy of I am wearing a mask?

Deisai — Google review

Memorable and fun experience at Olympic Game Farm. We were looking for something to do while waiting for our time for the ferry in Port Townsend and so glad we found this. When we went around 11 am on a Wednesday there were no other cars there. The best part was having the various llamas, cows, deer and buffalo come to the car! One even licked the window so keep your windows up. They were so adorable. We didn’t feed them but we really enjoyed being able to observe them from up close. The wolves and bears being in their small enclosures was a little sad though, the wolves and lion were pacing around. But it was really nice to see the deer roaming around with lots of space. The staff was friendly and looked like they do their best to care for the animals. Overall great experience.

Nika M — Google review

Absolutely amazing experience if you love animals. My auto shop guy recommended this place and I'm so glad I went.I drove through twice, and visited the gift shop first. I earned a gift Bison snow globe after I spent over $100! Everyone seems happy to work there and are quick to catch people hassling any animals (a guy got yelled at for chasing a peaco*ck). You can definitely tell that they care for the animals; a gentleman approached me and explained that all the animals have been raised with the visitors around them their whole lives, and that driving at a slow roll was the way to go.The Bison were the most aggressive when it came to begging (and drooling), but not nearly as aggressive as I was afraid of. I never ever thought I'd be able to safely interact with such large animals!!I spoke to them the same way I speak to large dogs, which is the closest experience I've had so far with animals (which you can hear in my video mixed in with the photos). They generally listen, and they seems to be able to smell the difference when you're out of bread anyway.

Kitten F — Google review

I grew up coming here and wanted to bring my kids as well. we made a trip of it. my 4 year old absolutely loved feeding the animals. make sure you buy 4 loaves of bread because you will 1000% need it. the buffalo , deer and yak will love you. it's so fun to drive through. you can get stuck by an animal in front of you, but it's really entertaining. you can go thru as many times as you want in one day.

Jessica J — Google review

I had a great time at Olympic Game Farm! It was exciting to be able to feed the animals. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone, especially families with kids. The only thing I would caution is not to stop your car while you're on the farm, as there are animals running around everywhere.

Artistry M — Google review

Kids loved it. We loved. Big Blue the elk was my favorite. He was sweetest just kept coming with me. He let me feel his antlers. Melissa , one of the employees in the elk/bison area was exceptionally nice and helpful while we got trapped a few times. Loved her personality. Thanks for help Melissa couldn't of done with out ya lol.

Josh M — Google review

We had a great experience at the Olympic Game Farm! Such a fun experience! I was kissed, slobbered on and fed some animals (not much different from an average day in my house with 4 kids 🤣)! I love that the entrance tickets were good for all day and allowed us to go around as many times as we wanted. We got 6 total loaves of bread to feed and that was plenty for our kids to feed to the animals (we didn't properly portion the first 3 loaves out for the first section and had to restock with another 3 loaves before heading to the Elk section). I wish I had worn different clothes haha but it was well worth changing later for the great experience!!

Ryan C — Google review

What a great time for families. My boys were a bit skiddish going into the farm. That washed away quickly and the good times were on. Buy a loaf or two to start at the gate.

Jim T — Google review

This farm was very clean and well kept. The animals have a lot of space to roam and are not shy to come up to your vehicle. You have to buy the bread they offer because of rules they have to followI don't see that any of the negative complaints had any meritThe people who work there were around a lot either feeding the animals or just making sure visitors were following the rules which is great. All the animals looked healthy and the stalls had plenty of fresh food

Cheri L — Google review

What a unique experience!!!!! While there are lions and tigers....the main experience is driving through several varieties of animals where they comfortably come to your car! It's a little bit intimidating at first, but if you follow the rules, it's a safe and fun trip!Currently there are Golden and Bald Eagles hanging around as well.Don't forget about the wonderful gift shop and friendly staff too!I'd give this 10 stars if I could! Some animals seen- Elk, Sika deer, Fallow deer, Bison, Yaks, Llamas, wolves, beer, Eagles( not part of the farm).

Heather F — Google review

So much fun!!! Got to see beautiful animals and feed them as well.. the yaks were beyond friendly!! So much fun!!! I can't wait to go back. There was 3 of us and we got 3 loaves of bread and it was a good amount.

Chad G — Google review

The animals were very friendly as they came up to our windows to be fed. We were concerned about our rental car at first but then we relaxed seeing that the animals were very calm. Genuinely good fun!

Olga I — Google review

Love this place. We went to get away for the day and the animals are so sweet and calming. Love feeding them. We got to see the Elk babies. So cute. There will be a few more baby deer out there soon. My favorite is always the llama. Don't know why, but super cute. The bears were playful. So if you get a chance stop in. When you leave get an ice cream 🍦 delicious:)

Mary G — Google review

Don't get me wrong absolutely incredible. The scenery alone was a wow, the only reason for the lost star making this a five star experience was the lions, tigers, bobcats, cougars, wolf's and any other animal that was in a cage. The cages were extremely small for such large animals. Pretty sad towards the end going from happy and laughing with family, to my daughter in tears cause the lion can't get up from the cage being too small. 🥺(she's 8) so........yeah......

Tiffany S — Google review

A friend took me here. It was so much fun. The animals for the most part are definitely not shy. And when they tell you don't stop during the Buffalo and elk, they mean it. Those guys can get a smidge demanding. The animals I mean. The driver made the mistake of stopping for a moment. We had 4 huge Buffalo all wanting to be fed, and all 4 trying to stick their heads in the open windows. 😳 it was a lot of fun though and we had so many laughs. Great place to see. Highly recommend it and cannot wait to go again.

Misty C — Google review

I highly recommend this amazing drive thru experience. Not going to lie, my Husband and I bought 8 loaves of bread to take two trips around the Farm. So many animals, eagles and ravens in the trees, and of course seagulls trying to steal the bread haha! We even got to hear the lion roar off in the distance when we had passed by him. Great family fun adventure with a little gift shop

Mrs M — Google review

Loved this place! It’s so much fun. My only thing was, the bears and big cats were really unnecessary, and kept in a cage. Personally, they were the only part that was not fun and rather sad. Maybe getting more free range animals to feed and releasing them (rehab) would be a good idea. But we did love the invasive animals practically inside our cat for bread 😂

Jessica H — Google review

We love bringing our family here. For us, the Elk and Buffalo make it worth it. If you're not afraid of the animals then buy the bread! It makes the experience so much more worth it. It's great perk that your admission is for the day. We've gone through the park, gone out to lunch and then come back to go through again. Lock your doors! We had a Buffalo licking the handle as if they were trying to open the door.

Fig N — Google review

Highly recommend going to the Olympic Game Farm. Such a cool experience and totally worth the money! You can go around as many times as you want that day and you see a wide variety of animals! Lots of memories for the family. Highly recommend feeding them the bread that is for purchase. Be sure to check out the gift shop afterwards! Just a heads up, you will want to get a car wash afterwards from all the drool from the animals 😂

Heather D — Google review

Went here for daughters 7th birthday. She had a blast and was nothing but smiles the entire time. She can't wait to go again.

Toy H — Google review

Indeed one amazing and memorable trip to the farm. I mean, this is definitely a dream come true. Things i only saw on TV is coming to in person, the only distance between you and the wildlife is your car door and windows. Its an hour long journey from Bainbridge Ferry Terminal, we started like 8Am to the Ferry in Seattle DT, took the ferry, started the day with Breakfast and Coffee and enjoyed every scenic routes to this wonderful Farm in Sequim. Trust the journey. Lamas, Cows, Deers, i mean , everyone wants to kiss your car, I suggest you to buy the breads so that you can feed them, drive slow, they might scare you, but its all trained and lovables. Elks were my personal favourite. Now tell me, Are you excited to see Wolfs and hyenas ?Ps: Ignore the audio in the videos of my review😛

Ashik N — Google review

20 bucks for adults, kids under 5 free, bread 4 bucks a loaf, expression on your kids face when a bison wraps a tongue around your face, priceless! The recept is good for all day long, just be prepared to buy more bread. Don't recommend going through with a nice car.

Sean D — Google review

A great activity for weekend. My kid loved it.Animals were active. Great for all ages.(Note-Save some bread for Elks in last.)

Hemali M — Google review

First timer here and I must admit, the entire experience was memorable. Purchase their bread - feeding these animals was absolutely enjoyable. I don’t have kids yet, but I’d bring them here often if I did. Our 2 hour visit was filled with a roller coaster of emotions - it was truly a great time.

Zip San Juan is a tourist attraction that offers 8 ziplines and a suspension bridge for people of all levels to enjoy. The natural terrain provides an exciting backdrop for the experience. The guides, Sophie and Kylie, are experienced and skilled in making the tour enjoyable for everyone. They make it super fun and put people at ease, especially those who may be nervous about trying it out for the first time.

Sophie and Kylie were our guides on our tour last night. We took our daughter for the first time and she was nervous, but they did a great job of making it super fun and put her and everyone in our mixed group of 8 at ease. They were fun and made the whole experience well worth it for any family looking for a good intro into zip lining. They were experienced and it showed how much they just loved the whole experience from actually zipping to meeting people...the guides made it for us and we will definitely recommend this to anyone.

Jaime T — Google review

We couldn't have been more disappointed in this company. We decided to take one day of our three day vacation to zip line over San Juan Island. We ferried early to make the 1 pm zip line appointment ($59), had lunch and waited at the spot we agreed to meet the night before. Thirty minutes prior to our reservation the company called to inform us that they didn't have enough guides to host our zip line tour. They said one of the guides had a migraine and we could wait to see if she felt better by the 4pm tour time. The returning ferry schedule led us to wait, we were called at 3:30 and were told the guide didn't feel better and the reservation had to be cancelled.I completely understand someone being sick, but running a business means having enough workers to cover these situations. The whole experience of working with the company was very unprofessional. Now to the refund... "So sorry, you'll have to work directly with Groupon." Thanks for the great customer service...

What a great experience especially if this is your first time ziplining ever!!! Our two guides, whose names have suddenly escaped me (sorry, guys, and you were so awesome!) were not only expertly and assuringly safety conscience, but were funny as well! It is obvious they love their job, the sport, and Washington state! Thanks for the wonderful time. Grandson says thanks as well. I would recommend this adventure for any age!! Aha, Ivan and Anchi. Hurrah, I remembered!

Brian and Sara the zipline guides were at the pickup spot a few mins before the estimated time . They were AWESOME .... We had a blast they made it fun for all of us . They made sure we all had a good time and talked about every zip line before we went .I will be going again this summer .... CAN'T WAIT ... HIGHLY RECOMMEND . THIS WAS A FIRST FOR ALL OF US AND WE WILL BE BACK . P.S I even posted a picture of me and my sister :)

This was the highlight of our trip to the San Juan Islands. It was a great family excursion (our youngest is 8). Our tour guides Lara and Kylie were awesome! Highly recommend!!

Jessica S — Google review

The shuttle arrived on time to take us to the site. The instructors (Gauge and Chole) were amazing, funny and clearly explained all the safety rules and what not to do. They also showed us a few zip tricks to increase the fun. The first two practice zips preps you for the remaining higher longer zips. There is a bridge to cross that was, for me, fun-scary but safe.

Specialty Museums

The Whale Museum is an educational institution dedicated to the conservation and respectful study of marine wildlife, particularly whales, and the Salish Sea ecosystem. The exhibits are informative and interactive, offering visitors the opportunity to explore different aspects of whale biology, behavior, and communication. Visitors can stand inside an orca ribcage, compare whale brains with human brains, listen to whale calls, among other displays. The museum also features a gift shop and videos about whales.

Cute little museum to visit and learn more about whales. Fun things for adults and children.

Jason H — Google review

We are glad we went to the museum as it helped us learn about whales and remind us of all the things we are doing to our planet to harm this precious species. The museum is a bit dated. We watched two of the movies and they were pretty old. I still enjoyed it

Terri G — Google review

GOOD AT EDUCATION BUT MUSEUM NEEDS AN UPGRADEThe people here are passionate about educating humans on these wonderful creatures and what can be done to protect them. However, the museum itself looks like it's from 1992 with very little interactivity and, in this day and age, that's expected. I hope they receive funding to update, as this is the perfect spot to learn about whales and then go out and see them in their natural habitat. On the plus side, the gift shop was good with a nice range of products.

Linda B — Google review

Informative museum focused on conservation and respectful, careful study of and interaction with marine wildlife (especially whales). The exhibits are interesting, and there's lots to read about whales on the self-guided tour.Experience standing inside the ribcage of an orca, seeing a whale brain vs. a human brain, listening to whale calls, and other interesting and interactive displays. There's also a nice little gift shop and videos about whales. Well worth a visit.

Teresja N — Google review

Very nice little museum. Hard to manage with a stroller, as you have you have to walk up a serious set of stairs. Honorable, scientific work.

Sherry O — Google review

We were excited to get to do this before our whale tour experience. We really got educated today. The staff was friendly. Lots of different areas to read, listen and view. We spent 45 minutes in the museum.

Dwight A — Google review

I have been obsessed with whales since I was about 7 years old, but only recently moved to the PNW where we share their waters. This museum may be small, but it is an exquisite collection, and presented very well. It is self-guided, but if you take the time to engage with the exhibits, it is time well spent.I especially loved the personal stories of all the orcas, particularly the ones with skeletons on display. It really contextualized the struggle for conservation and awareness. These incredible creatures were treated as disposable for so long; it's vital to share what we have learned about them so far.My husband and I absolutely loved the museum, and will return the next time we're in Friday Harbor.

Joi W — Google review

There are movies to watch, and a lot of very informative posts to read. All ages would be fascinated by the bones, photos, and hearing the Whales communicating. One could spend a lot of time in the museum. There are many really great books, postcards, etc. to buy in the store. This two-story building houses wonderful artifacts and first-person stories to listen to. Important research is told and written about in the museum. I will return to study more at this wonderful museum.

Julie S — Google review

Amazing place, their exhibits are really well done and they’re varied. A lot of beautiful art and their gift shop has a lot of cool stuff, I had to be careful not to buy one of each.Highly recommend if you’re visiting, live here, with a family or by yourself.

Adriel L — Google review

Really well done exhibits with lots of information about the orcas and other whales, and very moving stories of some of the individual Southern Resident Killer Whales. Employees were kind and knowledgeable, and I attended a fantastic free talk at the museum by Brad Hanson about the status and health of the Southern Resident Killer Whale pods. If you’re planning a trip to San Juan Island the Whale Museum is whale worth a visit.

Gretchen M — Google review

Cool place worth checking out, lots of souvenirs to be had, lots of info to learn, and clean bathrooms. They even had a stair lift to take disabled up/down stairs as majority of exhibit is upstairs.

$10/adult. This is a super cool little museum with all kinds of information and displays that I learned a lot from! A quick stop I highly recommend.

Lauren T — Google review

So glad I visited the museum! It was so educational and had lots of information on whales and what we can do to help them. I definitely recommend stopping on your visit to San Juan island.

MysteriousHeadlines — Google review

I wasn't necessarily interested, but went based on numerous recommendations, and I was glad I did. The displays are extremely educational and include a lot of interesting information. In my opinion, the museum appears to be sadly underfunded, but they have done a remarkable job with what they have. I learned a lot that I found myself recalling later on a whale watching tour and a kayak tour.

Purple Haze Lavender Farm is a picturesque destination with over 15,000 lavender plants and more than 50 varieties. The farm offers flower picking, picnic tables, and an ice cream stand. Visitors can explore the stunning fields of varied shades of purple and learn about the agricultural roots of America. The gift shop features a wide variety of lavender products, while the setting includes beautiful gardens, ponds, and wetlands.

Phenomenal experience. Lots of lavender with great varieties and colors. The lavender ice cream is great. The shop has a lot to offer. Their behaviour and service is very good. They immediately offered help and support for any inconvenience. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere was there with all the festivity of this year's lavender festival.Loved loved and loved. Will visit again.

This is one of the most beautiful lavender farms that I visited in Sequim. Everything is so well kept and organized. They even have the little picnic chairs for you to enjoy the lavender field. We got to try the lavender ice cream as well, although I wish they would add more lavender aroma in it.

Absolutely gorgeous spot for lavender. Highly recommend coming here mid July (before the festival if you want to avoid crowds). They had a cute gift shop, a few picturesque fields to explore, an ice cream and lemonade stand that had various lavender flavors. A very dreamy day was spent here (took my mom on a flower date) and the smell of lavender surrounded us. I felt like laying down and never leaving. Will definitely return annually!

Lovely lavender farm to visit. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the day with family and friends. $5 for a u-cut lavender bunch is a fun opportunity to take some lavender home with you

Stopped here as I was leaving town to take in all the lavender scents and start my trip off relaxed. I wandered the striped fields and gift shop. Took some nice pictures. Bought some Lemon Chiffon Ice Cream that had a hint of lemon lavender flavor. Very nice stop.

Drove to this place from Seattle. The drive was beautiful, Sequim is a very calm and charming town. You can smell the lavender as you get close to the farm. There are several lavender farms in the valley. The farm looked peaceful and beautiful, smelled amazing as well. There is an I cream shop which sells lavender ice cream and a gift shop selling lavender themed items. They were selling lavender bouquets too.I had a great time visiting the farm and would highly recommend checking this place out in the lavender season.

All of the staff were very friendly, in the gift shop and at the ice cream shop as well. Prices are on the high side for the ice cream, but that is expected when you’re kind of paying for the experience. There was only 2-4 rows of lavender that was just starting to open up, as stated, they are in full bloom towards the end of the month. Such a beautiful and serene place to stop by. First time at a lavender farm so it was super cool! In the front was a large distillery machine for their fresh oil. Pets are allowed on a leash and with clean up! There is also a super cute cabin on the grounds that says it is available for rental! Budget friendly, family stop if you’re in the area and in search of something to do!

We visited the lavender farm on July 17th.I read about the lavender festival on their website and was expecting a lavender bloomed garden but very few rows bloomed. The farm was beautiful but wish they mentioned the right time to visit the farm on the website (with a beautiful sight of bloomed lavender)My kids enjoyed the face painting station. Though it was extra money. the Person in charge did a great job. I would give 5 star for her.We got lavender white chocolate ice cream. It was more white chocolate I could hardly taste lavender. The staff at the ice cream stand was friendly. We went to a gift shop. I saw a board with 3 magnets. I liked one particular and asked the person in charge if they have 2. The person in billing said the ones on the board are all they have. My husband noticed two trays full of magnets on the counter. I asked if I can check that, and she said yes and I was able to find the magnet I was looking for.She need not look the magnet for me but at least could have told to me check in that tray. Not sure if she was new or rude to care about the customer.

This is literally the best place I’ve ever visited. We went on a Sunday evening at the end of the season and got an incredible raspberry lavender ice cream. June and Jeanie were so kind and friendly. I wanted to buy all of the products in the store! This is my second time here while visiting from minnesota and I will be back!

Aroma was amazing.Ice cream was great. There were so many different things made of lavender. The farms were beautiful. It is worth your time to come here.

Awesome lavender farm out in the Sequim countryside! Don't miss this place during Lavender Fest. Immaculate grounds complement the rustic architecture and a lovely gift shop with awesome staff. Not far off the 101, easy to get to.This is a great location for photographs, very idyllic, and they host events as well. Have fun at the Fest!Olympic Otter

The casino at 7 Cedars features slot machines and table games as well as the top-rated Cedars golf course, Italian and American eateries and live entertainment. It is situated just east of Sequim in Blyn, a popular destination with plenty to offer its guests.

7 Cedars was a pleasant surprise for me on my way back from Hurricane Ridge. The hotel is top notch with beautiful views of the snow covered landscape, exquisite bedding and a shower I never wanted to leave. The hotel staff were exceptional and very accommodating. There is a smoke free casino and a smoking casino. As a non smoker I found myself enjoying both because of the quality air filtering system. The restaurant food was what you’d get in a fine dining restaurant, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. Honestly, they must send their staff to customer service trying. I cannot wait to return!

We were heading back from a week's vacation in Canada and just needed a place to spend a night on the way home. We aren't gamblers, and we were concerned that the hotel might smell like smoke or be noisy. Nothing could be further from the truth. We were so pleasantly surprised to discover that 7 Cedars offers lovely, no-smoking rooms that are brand new and feature tasteful and attractive decor. The beds are comfortable, and the bathroom is large and well appointed. The shower is huge, the sink area is well lit and the towels are big and fluffy. The entire room was impeccably clean. Amenities include a very large television screen, a bathrobe and an ironing board and iron. As we were loading up our car on the way out, the manager came by to ask about our stay--a nice personal touch. The only drawback to the room is a little too much technology: the automatic nightlight in the bathroom and the lit screen on the phone are a little annoying to those who prefer a dark room. (Perhaps we should have called down to the front desk to see how we could manage the lighting issues.) Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again the next time we are passing through the area.

Beautiful Hotel. The rooms are EXQUISITE!! The staff was amazing. They are friendly, professional, organized. The attention to detail was impeccable. Definitely a must place to visit. Next time my husband is bringing his clubs to golf. Thank you for helping us make good memories.

I stayed on July 6. We had plans to surprise a relative and our requests could have seemed complicated. The front desk in person and on the phone were eager to accommodate us. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. I will happily stay again. Also shout out to The House of Seven Brothers. Great food and service. Two breakfasts with Heidi the magnificent.

My wife and I spent the night at the 7 Cedars for two nights, celebrating her birthday. This was our third, and in most ways our best visit at the hotel. (Last time was just a wee better for me because I won a hand pay... but, hey..., you can't win em all). From initial greeting, to accommodating our every request, we were extremely happy with the hotel and accommodations. Awesome shower with great water pressure.Restaurant and Bar staff were attentive, happy and glad we were there. They spent time to talk with us and hear about our visit to the property. They were genuinely nice.We also played Bingo on Sunday night (and my wife won one Bingo! so that was fun!) Bingo staff were super nice and chatty, really enjoyed the night.Casino was awesome and friendly. I had some questions for the membership desk team, and they gladly helped me out and gave me information on some promos I didn't even know I had earned. We'll definitely be back! Thanks 7 Cedars, it shows that you care about your team, your guests and your property!

The holiday lights are beautifully done. There are so many it's just magical. We have stayed here with our RV several times and it's always quiet and peaceful. But the lights really made this visit special. Amazing place to stop in your RV ... Plus the pizza is fantastic.

We thoroughly enjoyed the House of Seven Brothers restaurant. Drinks were great as was the Linguine and Clams with wine butter sauce. We also enjoyed a house salad and clam chowder. The Bread Pudding with it's delicious sauce was a winner. We will be back.We won some and lost some. Really enjoyed the non smoking area.

Aleta H — Google review

Great hotel experience. Comfy beds, not too crowded, clean, beautiful artwork throughout, large non-smoking section. Not the loosest slots, but we did okay. The bars were good, but service at the Bourbon bar was terrible. Only bad thing I can say. Food at 7 Brothers was good both breakfast and dinner. We were in Room 1412 and had a nice view of the mountains and water. Shout out to the front desk for giving us an early check-in!

The hotel is gorgeous and the staff are super helpful! I was surprised there was no fan in the hotel room restroom, but otherwise the room amenities were fine and we really enjoyed the decor.Ate at the 7 Brothers restaurant which again had lovely service but average food. Nothing special but nothing negative either. Our particular booking came with a voucher for the slots which was a novelty as I’ve never visited a casino before! Overall a pleasant stay.

Tegwyn H — Google review

Absolutely fantastic experience!!Hotel is immaculate, the rooms are some of the nicest and intelligent layouts I’ve visited in Washington state, and staff is extremely kind! The casino was exactly the same experience and the food and drink options are delicious and fairly priced! Absolutely loved my time spent there and definitely feel I got my moneys worth for the enjoyment I received from this casino and hotel!Keep up the great work, y'all!!

We booked a three day event at 7 Cedars! Multiple meeting rooms, several meals, 85 guests and pretty much booked every single hotel room they had! From the beginning stages of planning (Lindsay, Melodie, Scott) to the final dessert served, everything was extraordinary! The staff was more than helpful (Esther and Karen). The hotel rooms are absolutely beautiful, clean and comfortable. The meals were excellent! We are so happy to have been welcomed to Jamestown. My hands go up in thanks to you!

Only had a chance to stay here for one night. Needed a place to stay for out trip to Olympic National Park and decided to stay here. The place was very nice and clean. The rooms were super spacious and much nicer than I expected. There are restaurants on site so there was no need to leave the property for food after a long day of hiking and driving. I would definitely stay here again if I’m in the area.

Lots of new games since my last visit. Game floor is roomy and you can smoke in half the area! I will admit I did feel strange lighting up at first, but you know, once I hit a bonus it was time to light up again and I forgot all about anything else. Lol! Arrived about 1 am on Monday morning. Only thing open was the gambling which was fine. Had fun, tried various games before I settled on a game that had my interest in mind, left with a couple extra dollars. Only thing I wished for (besides a jackpot) was something to drink, water would have been fine. No fountain drinks or water available. Staff said a waitress would be around. Didn't see 1 after I sat down. Thirsty the whole time. Would appreciate self access to a beverage machine. Nice place though, and will go back.

Trish M — Google review

Fun drop in. The smoking section of the casino could do better on ventilation. You smell the smoke as you enter. (But they have done a great job separating non smoking). Fun time.Over priced co*cktails tho.

Amazing stay! We traveled with out 2.5 years old from Seattle area towards the Olympics and this hotel was a great stop. You have everything you need here, from big rooms, comfy beds, different restaurants (from pizza to soups), casino and a nice place for coffee and breakfast. The nice thing was that for the first time we benefited from our kiddo waking up early lol. They have a $10 gift card if you check out before 9am.Nice location, we will sure be back!

The 7 Cedars Hotel is first rate. Rooms are beautifully appointed ; bathrooms are large and have walk in showers. Casino is mostly non smoking. Front of hotel rooms can have limited water view, but it is mostly parking lot and highway. Ask for a back side room - quiet and expansive view of the foothills covered with old growth fir trees. This hotel has a superior Native American art collection in lobby, halls and public area.

Stayed at the hotel for the first time and had an amazing experience. We were there to celebrate a birthday, and one staff member in particular really made it special. Roger, the hotel receptionist working the night shift was so helpful and kind. Roger made sure our party was taken care of and had everything we needed. Thank you Roger!!!! We will absolutely be returning. Beautiful hotel with clean rooms and amazing staff!

Amazing place to stay and play! This isn't just a casino, it's an experience. Great rooms, great food, great service, great fun! The staff here are amazing and will make sure you get the best care possible so you can enjoy your stay.

This is our third stay at 7 Cedars and it has become our favorite get away destination. The first stay was planned as a two day stay and we enjoyed it so much we extended two more days. Our rooms were wonderful; clean, comfy beds, and quiet. The food at the in-house restaurant, The House of 7 Brothers, was expertly prepared and the dining atmosphere was casual. The smoke-free slot/table games were separated from the smoking slot/table games by the lobby/restaurant/gift shop/player’s club which I liked a lot. We did have one little issue which was handled completely to our satisfaction by the great casino management staff. Just an hour and a half from home, and a short drive to Sequim from the Casino, it is a fun place to visit.

From the time of checking in to departure everything was so nice. Rooms were spacious, clean and inviting. Staff members were friendly, courteous and effecient. When we first went to use the safe in our room it didn't work. I called front desk and there was someone to fix it in less than 10 minutes. The food was awesome. You must try their clam chowder - Yum. I can't think of anything bad to say. We will be going again.

Beautiful hotel. Staff was wonderful. Very clean and beautiful room. No gym, but they have bikes that can be brought up to your room at no charge. The food was amazing and the cleanliness throughout hotel was above my expectation. I definitely will be back!

We loved every minute at 7 Cedars. We brought a team of ball players and families. The rooms, catering, golf, the casino, and music on the weekends was excellent. The staff takes 100% care of you. They should be nominated for a Presidential customer service award. Not only for everything else, but I had to go to Lost and Found TWICE and both items were found. My favortite hotel experience.

This resort is excellent. The staff will make you feel like a VIP. From the people at the check in desk, the casino, and restaurant staff. This team understands and provides outstanding guest services.

Got some food, 'twas delicious, took about an hour to get to us on a day that wasn't very busy. We had three different wait staff waiting on us, and they still forgot drinks. We sat there watching people who had just walked in being served though we waited for an hour. I dunno what that was about, but at least the food was yummy.

Spent time here in the summer beautiful area and a beautiful hotel! One of the best indigenous hotels and casinos that I've been to as far as displaying artwork in and out of the casino! The rooms are amazing clean nice hotel employees! Had a wonderful time look forward to going again when they have the Christmas decoration lights out I heard they go all out!

Each time I have stayed I have been greeted by night clerk who is friendly and helpful. I have travel by myself on a couple of occasions. On those nights I have felt safe as older woman. I have also found the rooms very comfortable and peaceful. The shower is an easy to walk in. There is also a wood shower stool . This a great casino to visit.

Barbara J — Google review

I did not stay in the hotel. I did however have drinks and dinner there. They still have a "smoking section" if you're interested and they have a none " smoking section" also. This place is absolutely beautiful! It is a smaller casino than others and I think it makes it better for customer service! Everyone was polite and professional! The food was good I had surf and turf. Will definitely return any time I am in the area.

7Cedars is a lovely ferry getaway from Victoria, BC, Canada. The hotel and casino are beautiful! The Queen double is 5* however this time I did a 2 level upgrade to a King Suite which was not a suite hence the 4*. Some of the staff is out of this world, Jenn at the front desk and Larry the shuttle driver. The Casino staff/servers are hit and miss otherwise service would be 5* as well. This is my 2nd trip to 7Cedars with the Blackball ferry. Great experience and great value overall! I plan to make this trip a few times per year despite the horrible exchange rate.

FP B — Google review

7 Cedars Hotel and Casino far exceeded our expectations. We chose this hotel due to the amenities which included restaurants that stayed open past 8pm which is hard to find in the area. When we arrived we were greeted by a very nice gentleman who provided us with information, times and locations of restaurants along with their other amenities. The check in was quick and easy. The rooms are very clean with lots of space and my teenage son said the pullout couch bed was very comfortable. We went for a late hike and ended up having dinner after 9pm not expecting much. To our surprise, the food was delicious and staff was beyond amazing. This will be our go to place when staying in Sequim. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Janal K — Google review

Very small gaming floor in comparison to other casinos in Washington State. They had drawings running shortly after we got there and half of the machines were conveniently having errors with our new players cards. They are required to be in a machine during the drawing, so it made it challenging. I win frequently at the other Casinos, but always lose playing here so we won't be returning.

Trista B — Google review

Thank you for making our stay so memorable! The hotel itself is filled with stunning examples of local indigenous art, the room was spacious and had the "best shower" I have experienced so far in my travels. The staff made us feel at home by taking care of us like family.Larry the shuttle driver was the cherry on the top, safely driving us back to "PA" for a ferry back to Victoria and entertaining us with local history along the way.The bike ride along the Olympic Discovery trail was the focus of our trip but the stay at Seven Cedars turned out to be the best reward of all. We look forward to returning with our family soon!

I went for Easter brunch. Terrible food. Literally the worst brunch I have ever had. Steamed bag scrambled eggs, powdered sauces, no brown on the soggy sausage, pancakes but no syrup, nothing fresh except the fruit. Worst bloody mary I have ever had. Old guy in the booth next to me smelled strongly of urine. Waitstaff was mediocre. If you are north of 70 and burnt your palette it may be fine. The facility was nice, clean and well appointed.

Matt M — Google review

The high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail in the rooms has definitely declined. We've stayed over 30 times and consistently over the last 6 months the rooms have been gross. My husband and I stayed a weekend and there was candy around the base of the bed. The next weekend I came with a girlfriend and we got the same room. The candy was still there. They are not vacuuming the carpets, the chairs and couches are gross and not vacuumed. Coffee cups had crusty cream and lipstick. It's super disappointing because we've always chosen the hotel because of the high quality and standards in the room. This past weekend our couch was covered in glitter, coffee cup were dirty and the shower shampoo and bodywash were COMPLETELY empty. Super frustrating when you're mid shower. Also the bedding had crusty hard spots all over. Nasty to say the least. Hopefully management will address and retrain staff. But ALWAYS a 10/10 from the guys at the front counter and Angie and crew in the coffee shop. We love them all. Super service!!!

I had 2 wonderful stays at this hotel. I booked a room via a promotional link that was sent to me, for a 3rd stay. The room was booked out about a month an a half prior to actual arrival.2 days before my arrival date, I was called by the hotel and told they would not honor my reservation if I wouldn't pay a new designated rate. I asked to speak with management and was connected to Bria Miller.I explained that the online booking system in fact let me make the reservation, so they should honor the original discounted rate and reservation. Additionally, this was a stay to celebrate my 40th birthday and that the hotels change of mind, greatly affected my special day.She showed no remorse or concern. She stayed her ground , that the discount codes sent out as promotions were influenced by casino play and that I had nowhere reached my casino play for that month, revoking any prior discount/codes honored. She sent me a winded email, including BOLDLY HIGHLIGHTED policy excerpts. C/Ced a few people in it, and I only assume was to "use me as an example "or make fun of me with the other. She was far from nice and friendly when spoken with on the phone. In the end it is clear that making more money off of someone else is more important that the guest and the guest's experience.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the rooms. They are very nicely built and decorated and felt very high-end. Cleanliness was a 9 out of 10, but I'm probably a little more observant than most. I did not feel like they weren't clean, just that they missed a few details. With the exception of the noise of the doors slamming shut, though that was muted by good insulation, it was very quiet in the rooms. Wifi was flawless. They had a nice large TV, nice lighted wardrobe, fluffy bathrobes, water bottles in the room, nice fixtures and excellent showers. Layout of the building was a little odd, in that we had to zigzag the length of it to get from parking lot to room to casino to lobby, but it's just some extra walking. Would stay again.

Jeff M — Google review

The rooms provided all I needed including extra pillows and quilt in the closet. And I have to mention the shower...very spacious and "spa like." I just love a great shower. The rooms are exceptionally quiet. The staff is professional and sincerely friendly.I always enjoy my stay here.

Wonderful staff, great big room, expertly prepared meal at the House of 7 Brothers. Loud parties until 4AM next door were dealt with quickly by front desk. The bed is harder than we enjoy but lots of pillows! All amenities are top notch!

Fort Worden Historical State Park is a former military base that boasts a beautiful Puget Sound shoreline, conference center, and rentable houses. It offers camping sites with World War II bunkers nearby for history enthusiasts. However, the campsites are essentially a spacious parking lot with full hookups for RVs and lack natural vegetation. Most sites can accommodate larger rigs easily.

Really just a wonderful trip! The beach was pretty and the amenities are well taken care of. The staff was helpful and the museum staff was happy to help with my questions. The fort itself is worth a entire day, I spent hours walking around deep underground inside of tunnels. Its a fascinating experience because most places wont let you walk into the tunnels. The rooms were very well kept and clean, if not old. Its also a interesting experience to stay in the rooms because every room had a purpose in the original fort. I stayed in the commanders quarters but the officers row is where most of the rooms are. Its also a great option if you want to explore the town because its very cheap and not far away.Over all 10/10 would come back when the museum remodel is finished.

We have tried to get into this park for years with no luck. Was really happy to find a spot there for our Valentine's Day celebration and it did not disappoint! Incredible views from the high points. Excellent hiking/biking trails. This park is very large and I think a person could spend a week here and not see it all! Restrooms were very well kept.On the downside - the signage for the campground to lead you to your RV spot is absolutely inadequate. The water was turned off for winter and the sign explaining where to the fill spigot was on a sandwich board and had been placed beyond the spigot, after you already drive by the spigot. There is not a campground entrance sign at all, so the end of our trip there consisted of about an extra 20 minutes of confusion and driving around that could have been alleviated with a good set of signs. The leash law is strictly enforced, even for our aged dachshund, who gets around slowly and could not create an issue when if he had the heart to. He also is sans teeth! In any case, we loved the park and would love to return if we can ever find a reservation again. Would be a great place for day hikes also!

Could easily spend the day here with our kids. Wish we brought a picnic! Bring good quality flashlights to explore, cell phone lights won't do. The kids were wowed by the different batteries, we explored quite a bit. There are a couple tricky ladders, be careful. The wildlife spaces are great ... Deer pop up, trees are beautiful, wonderful place. Dogs have to be on leash. There's the occasional restroom (see map picture). Lots of places to picnic. Saw some picnic benches.

Chris J — Google review

Cool place, dramatic and beautiful views. The Fort was also very cool. It is a big park so we didn’t get to see everything because we came later in the day so plan accordingly. Great place to bring the kids and learn some history of Washington state.

Such a beautiful park with a tranquil feel. A great day trip or you can multi day with the campground. We have ridden our bikes through here a handful of times now. This past visit I saw all ages doing activities including beach combing, kayaking, hiking, camping, and general sightseeing. So much to see here and even seasonal restaurants. There are numerous vistas above the beaches with glorious views. Each time I see some form of sea life and many birds. I appreciate the well tended public restrooms and picnic tables. Dress in layers and bring a beach blanket. Binoculars would be helpful for watching sea life and birds. Discover Pass is required for the park areas.

we stopped in Port Gamble. It is a beautiful little town and well worth the visit if you have not been there before. There's a nice little grocery store near the waterfront. At Fort Worden we drove out to Point Wilson Lighthouse and parked. We hiked around the waterfront and then climbed up the hill to some of the World War II batteries. We had a good drive back home, again taking the ferry. It was dark by the time we got on the ferry. Even though it was winter, our little Chevy Bolt made it all the way to Port Townsend and back on one charge.

Ft. Worden is a WONDERFUL place to visit and campsite. The beach is right next to your area where camping and the historic WWII bunkers are right next to the campsites. The reason I took one star is that it is essentially a "parking lot"; a very nice parking lot with all sites having full hookup for RVs but there is NO brush, shrubs or overhanging trees; it is a glorified parking lot off the side of the beach. Most of the sites arearge enough to accommodate larger sized rigs.

If you are looking for a State Park to WOW you, consider Fort Worden Historical State Park, 430+ acres located in Port Townsend in Washington State. This United States Army base was not only an Army base but later became a juvenile detention facility in 1957. And in 1971, Washington State Parks and Recreation took it over, becoming a State Park in 1973.Built by a British citizen known as Reverend John Barrow Alexander in 1883 was "Alexander Castle," the oldest building in Fort Worden. But the actual construction of the Fort was started in 1897 and closed as a base in 1953.There is so much beauty to see and history about Fort Worden; I've recently read some visitors say that Fort Worden appears to be haunted. Whatever your reason for visiting this Fort, it will surely wow you in more than one way.Fort Worden offers a sandy beach, abandoned artillery batteries for exploring, Point Wilson Lighthouse, a balloon hanger, museums, trails, wildlife, marine science center, camping area, day use site areas, and picnic places. Did I mention that there are cabins, shelters, conference centers, and historic structures to rent throughout the year? And so much more. A wedding was happening when we were there!I urge you to visit; even if you are a resident of Washington State or visiting Washington for the first time, this park is fabulous! Also, you get the benefit of being in Port Townsend; Port Townsend alone offers a slue of history and beauty!Shoutouts to every employee, volunteer or otherwise. These people have dedicated their time in keeping this park safe, lovely and litter free.If you choose to visit (I sincerely hope you do) this or any other park, please be respectful of the parks, wildlife and the employees. Clean up your messes, and enjoy what any park offers, not by drawing on or destroying it but by learning from them and appreciating all they have to offer, and remember Be kind to ALL living things!!!!

I visited the lighthouse area and one of the battlements. Excellent views and some great hikes on the beach and on the old trails of the fort. The view from the battlement overlooking the mouth of the Puget Sound was excellent.

I visited both Fort Worden and Fort Flagler (over on Marrowstone Island) in the same day, doing Flagler first and then Worden. By the time I got to Worden, it was early afternoon and the entire place was pretty busy. Flagler had been the opposite! Fort Worden is definitely set up to maximize park usage, which certainly works to its advantage for upkeep and revenue, but for a history buff tourist like me, I prefer a little less crowd. My wife & I went to see the historic fortifications, the Puget Sound Coast Artillery museum, and the Point Wilson lighthouse. Unfortunately, the only fortifications you can get to by car are Battery Kinzie (which was very crowded, since it is right next to the RV campground, beach, and science centers) and Battery Vicars (which is small and not notable really). The hike to get from the parking area to the other, more secluded fortifications is just under a mile - not really something I was interested in doing after hiking around Fort Flagler for three hours that same morning. And finding that route was tough since there was no signage pointing vehicles to that side of the park. So, we skipped the outlying batteries, and only visited Kinzie and Vickers. Kinzie is really big and impressive, with a fantastically beautiful view of the surrounding cliffs, so despite there being folks shouting and carrying on inside, it was still worthwhile.Point Wilson lighthouse was unfortunately closed for filming, but looked neat from a distance. There was a group of people fencing on the beach, I'd never seen THAT activity on the beach before! There ended up being two museums down near the parade ground that I thought looked interesting, the Coast Artillery museum I had planned for, and a tour of an Officer's Quarters - but both had short business hours, and I was unable to squeeze both into an afternoon. Each is managed separately and has its own cost. The Coast Artillery museum was good, not as good as the Fort Flagler Historical Museum but broader in scope and with interesting artifacts from throughout US military history. The room with information on how Puget Sound, Seattle, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca was defended during WWII and the Cold War is the most interesting part. The museum is within an old barracks, so the space isn't conducive to a typical museum flow, the customer service desk is between the two galleries so you have to pass back and forth to see everything. There was a guided tour of the museum going on, but from what I heard, it wasn't worth spending the time on - the guide was basically just saying what was on the signs, and the tour was barely through the first room by the time I was done with both galleries - and it had already started when I arrived! There is a small entrance fee, and they have books for sale on a variety of interesting military history & local history topics.Overall, the museum was the highlight, and worth the visit alone - but again, if choosing between Worden & Flagler, I'd recommend Flagler & its museum over this one. As with any other Washington State Park, you need to have a park pass - which you can buy on-site for $10 for the day, or $30 for the year (and it covers all Washington parks). Consult the Washington State Parks website for specific location, some parks have both machines that take credit cards and a visitors center option, some only have the machines.

Great campground. Large spacious sites. Super views and very close fishing. There are couple nice wineries close by also. Henery's Hardware has lots of camping needs and they stock items for RV repairs too.

David S — Google review

Beautiful hikes and lots of history to learn about. The local wildlife is pretty friendly, too! Historic lodging is available, or there are campgrounds, but you'll need a reservation. Much of the area is an easy walk but if you can handle the steeper trails and rougher terrain there are some beautiful views from the upper portion of the fort.

Beautiful setting with many trails to walk. Views of the water were amazing. The grounds and buildings are well maintained. It is an interesting place to see our history and how the military was ready, just in case.I just did a day trip. There is camping available. Dog friendly, but the dog must be on a leash.Deer roam the area which is common in the Port Townsend area.

Beautiful place full of military history and nature’s wonders. Situated on a strategic site where a straight meets a sound, (Say that 3 times faster :)) Fort Worden is a great respite from the city. We stayed in a neatly decorated house on officer’s row during the Apple Cider Festival weekend. It was lovely.

Great state park with beaches and something to do for everyone. Their is something military history buffs, movie buffs, Montana pipeline and beach people. You would do yourself an injustice to never got.o this state park.

Absolutely loved spending a few hours here. Spent some time at the initial beach area. Getting to visit the lighthouse and catch a view of the top of the old lighthouse tower. Walking along the bluff trails with a stunning view of the sea from up high. Lots of structures with historical significance and no restrictions on climbing and enjoying every nook and cranny. Be careful and pay attention as you walk as there are no guardrails with some very steep drops on concrete structures in some areas. None of the trails are very difficult and they aren't too long. Many are out-and-back which make it easy to estimate time and distance. One of the trails I was on was relatively secluded and was face-to-face with a large deer.

Love this place for both camping and hiking, as well as the history of it all. Wandering into and between the gun emplacements, now silent, make you ponder what it was like when this place was built.

We love this magical spot where you can view the Cascades and the Olympics just by following the beach around the point that boasts a lighthouse!

Fort Worden State Park, located just north of the charming town of Port Townsend, is indeed a beautiful and diverse destination to explore. With its sandy beaches, trails, vistas, and historical sites, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The park boasts several beaches with picnic tables and fields, providing ample opportunities for relaxation and recreation. The views from the vistas above the beaches are breathtaking, offering glimpses of the Olympic Mountains and the Salish Sea.The park's historical significance is evident in the numerous bunkers that are available for exploration. These bunkers offer a glimpse into the region's military history, dating back to the early 1900s. Visitors can also explore the park's museum and aquarium to learn more about the area's unique ecology and history.Seasonal restaurants are available in the park for those looking to grab a bite to eat, and well-tended public restrooms and picnic tables ensure visitors have a comfortable and enjoyable experience. It's always a good idea to dress in layers and bring a beach blanket, especially if you plan on spending time on the beaches. Binoculars can also come in handy for watching sea life and birds. It's important to note that a Discover Pass is required for park areas, so be sure to plan accordingly. Overall, Fort Worden State Park is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to explore the stunning coast of Washington state.

My favorite park in Port Townsend. It’s big, beautiful has a couple of playgrounds, it’s right on the water with excellent views. You can hear the birds and sometimes even see deers. Perfect spot.

A charming park with a lot of nooks and crannies to observe the fine landscaping, good views on sunny days, wildlife, and the people in the open spaces doing very interesting things. Parking is a challenge, but perhaps a little better than some of the other free (not State) parks about the area.

Lovely park with lovely flowers and trees in bloom. There were some huge palm trees and some huge leaf plants that had been donated from other countries. The layout was quite nice and every once and a while I picked up lovely whiffs of flowers in bloom. Oh, and the live music in the white gazebo was a lovely bonus.

Deception Pass State Park covers 4,134 acres of ancient forest and features saltwater shores, freshwater lakes, camping facilities, and an extensive 38-mile trail system. Visitors can join a guided tour near the park to paddle to nearby coves and observe abundant wildlife such as birds, seals, and porpoises. The area experiences strong tidal currents and changing sea conditions due to wind and tide direction.

Beautiful beach.Awesome place to camp! The sites are privates and a good size. From the campground you have access to the beach, the lake and the trails all the way to the bridge and eve a little further, where you get a nice view from the top of the hill. The lake is one of my kids favorite activity to do during the summer. The water is nice and warm, there's a good sand area to build castle and picnic tables to snack. The trails are easy to intermediate it's not enough path to walk the whole day but It's definitely enough to keep the family busy for a few hours (2-3 with young children). That bridge is one of the most amazing places to be to catch the sunrise!!! 🤩

Deception Pass is by far one of my all time favorite destinations. Whether it be visiting the beach, exploring hiking trails, or just enjoying the breathtaking views, you can't ever grow tired of it. Its a one of a kind and perfect spot for photographers to snap some crazy cool photos. A great place to visit with family and friends and an even better place to go when you just need to escape everything and everyone. Im so grateful and lucky I have the privilege to live in a place like this.

Deception Pass State Park is a stunning destination that spans a strait and a few islands. Come here for incredible views of Skagit Bay and the Salish Sea from the Canoe Pass Bridge. At Rosario Head, make sure to stop by the tide pools to see colorful birds and an array of marine life. If you're looking for a place to stay, camping by Bowman Bay is an excellent option. You can even enjoy a cozy bonfire at night. In the morning, go for a hike on the park's scenic trails along deep-blue lakes and amid the lush forest.

I LOVE this place! My family and I came here in New Year's Day (2022) and we loved it. There was still plenty of snow on the ground and it was beautiful. While the park was closed that day (there was an emergency closure per the sign at the front of the entrance) we were able to park outside the entrance and walk to the dock area. Then we drove over to the overlook where the bridge is and we walked down by the beach area. It was beautiful and will definitely come back another time of the year.

Mita K — Google review

This is a gorgeous spot. I arrived early in the morning, and while the bridge was very active, the beaches were peaceful and calming. There’s some trails but I only walked from the beach up to the bridge. The views are amazing but it’s nerve-racking if you don’t like heights. If I had more time, I would have done a kayak tour because the water and mountains were stunning.Parking was easily available early morning but got somewhat full by 11:00 (on a weekday). Be aware that Discovery Pass is required to park.

There are so many beautiful sites to see. We had a huge campsite. There are several restrooms throughout the campground, and they have showers. The camp hosts do a great job of keeping everything clean and are super friendly. The entire site was quiet at night and in the morning. The beach was a 5 minute walk from our campsite. We could hear the waves at night. Super relaxing. 5 star campground!!

Mark F — Google review

Beautiful view! There is a hefty, steep trail to the bottom beach, but well worth the hike if you can handle the trek back up. There is also access to the Deception Pass bridge, which is a thrilling walk over.

Ashley B — Google review

Beautiful ocean view from the bridge. There is a sidewalk you can walk on bridge. Hiking trails under the bridge about 2 miles. Very easy to walk along. Friendly for kids to visit as well.

Jennifer S — Google review

This place is the most impressive bridge and most magnificent beauty u can imagine and shouldn't be missed. I've been here multiple times over the years and never tire of the view! It's always windy on the bridge and down on the beach it's warm after the sun moves overhead so it's best to go down there after noon. Parking is limited between Deception Pass and Canoe Pass but there's plenty of street parking along the rd before approaching the 1st bridge and also after the big bridge (in an actual lot)Pics don't even express how amazing it looks in person!

Melissa M — Google review

This place is beautiful and there is so much to do and see. For all ages. The beach, the hiking , and just all out breathtaking nature all around. Highly recommend anyone to if ever presented with the opportunity to visit then do. No regrets !!!

Angelia B — Google review

Loved the beaches and the walk on the bridge. Best time to visit is during sunset. Need discover pass for the state park visit where the beaches are accessible. West beach has plenty of parking.

Akash Y — Google review

Deception Pass, beautiful, swirling waters below. Is that the Deception? Saw sea lions or seals below. There is a trail from upper parking and goes down to the beach below or you can drive down if you are unable to go down a decent grade. Trail is well traveled. Picnic tables, bathrooms. You can walk across bridge, however, we had a 2 year old and it was nerve racking with the amount of traffic and we were on a cool November day. So we only ventured far enough to get a couple of pics. Hiked down to the beach and then walked to the 2nd one. Very clean and we were only ones there.

Cheryl D — Google review

A totally stimulating experience. The scale of the pass and bridge are awesome to see in person. The surrounding trails and forests are hobbit like and draw you in. Great experience! Highly recommend!!

Jeremy R — Google review

This was my first time going to this park. It was such a blast. Took less than a mile to get to the water. The hike down wasn’t too bad and lots to view on way down. Going back up is a bit steep. Once at bottom the beach is so beautiful. Can see eagles, pigeons, birds. Then the beautiful bridge you cross over to get too. The beach area is pretty small. I’m sure in the summer it’s more. Lots of drift wood, shells, sea life, just a beautiful peaceful place to see.

Tiffany C — Google review

Beautiful place with a small beach front 🏖️It is actually way larger than what you see in pictures. Scenic views and just soothing 🕊️You need to get a day pass which costs $10.Tip: To skip long lines get your pass from a ticketing machine on a parking lot next to bridge.

The most beautiful scenery in the Pacific Northwest. This is a must drive to location if you reside in Washington even Vancouver. I can’t afford to miss out.

So lovely! The parking areas looked busy, but the trails were quiet and peaceful. Well maintained and well marked. I followed the All trails map on the Goose Lake Perimeter and Discovery Trails and it worked well. Beautiful views and amazing old growth forest. Highly recommend!

Roxanna M — Google review

This park is a jewel of Washington. There is room to stretch your legs. There are paths to walk. Whether you decide to walk over the bridge or under the bridge. You can enjoy your walk on either side. The view from the bridge is astounding, and although it is next to a major traffic thoroughfare, it doesn't detract from the experience.

Ellis R — Google review

Breathtaking! Me and my boyfriend has a lovely lunch stop here on our way back to Seattle. We found a little trail from the bridge that led us to a spot with a view of the distant mountains. We could see tons of deals coming up for air and playing in the water. We also saw 2 bald eagles. It was a magical place.

Samantha F — Google review

Beautiful day, we tried some new trails, for us, up to Goose rock. Walked north and west beaches. I am not sure why they have it closed still. Half the parking spots are in good shape. They just need to have everyone take a piece of driftwood when they visit, and it will be cleaned up in no time.

Bret P — Google review

Whether you live in the area or are driving through stop and take in the beauty of this state park. The parking situation can be tricky so plan accordingly and also make sure you buy a day pass but I would recommend getting the yearly pass as it’s more worth your money. The bridge is beauty crafted above a heavy current body of water. The view is stunning and a sunny day there’s beaches and hikes all around the area. Can easily make a full day out of it here.

⚠️ You will need a Discover Pass to park or pay a fee, so have cash on you if you don't have a Discover Pass or risk getting a ticket. This is one of my go to location anytime I have any friends or family come to visit me in the area. It's worth the trip just for the views and pictures, but we usually also go on the super light and easy Hikes. If your coming from the Seattle area and you want more of a beautiful scenic view the whole way to the pass, take the ferry onto Whidbey Island ⛴️ that's almost it's own experience and really cool for most people who have never been on one.But if you're on a bit of a time crunch for some reason, taking the i5 route is usually MUCH faster.Do note that if you're going on a weekend, especially if it's a beautiful day, you're not the only one who is thinking of going here. The parking situation can be a pain. There are restrooms here also, and any time I've gone, they are not absolutely disgusting like most public restrooms they are decently well kept.

Humberto V — Google review

I've lived in the area all my life and yet experience something new each time we visit the park. We walked the trail from East to West Cranberry Lake with our grandson. We saw goslings, a huge eagle, and lots of birds. Picnic areas were clean well kept..

This is my favorite place to be! It's a very large park that can, and typically does, get busy but is well worth a stop. The park is huge and offers so much, the parks website has a lot of information. My favorites are the beaches, camping and wildlife. Did I mention the park is big? I'm lucky to live nearby so my visits can be frequent to relax and reset. Lots of picture opportunities. I wish I could figure out how to load video's on my reviews.

Deception Pass State Park in Washington offers stunning views of the coastline, cliffs, and forests, making it a nature lover's paradise. Activities like hiking, kayaking, and picnicking provide something for everyone, complemented by the park's rich history and wildlife. However, some visitors, like myself, may find it slightly overrated, especially if traveling from Seattle. Additionally, be prepared for the need for a park pass for parking.

A great place to visit! The history of the building and family that owned it is very interesting. Then, to top that - the creativity in the quilts and textile pieces is so inspiring. Wandering through the house is a treat. And the gift shop is lovely - full of beautiful gifts and treats.

Tricia C — Google review

The house itself is a museum piece, but the quilting work is truly breathtaking. Even if you've never given quilting a second thought, this little gem of a museum is worth checking out.

Emily C — Google review

I really enjoyed my visit and viewings! Sybil was very cordial and she definitely knows her stuff about every exhibit.👍🏽😉 I was fascinated by the Japanese Exhibition! So much detail and precision for every quilt presented in that exhibit. The Women's Suffrage Exhibit left me feeling a deeper appreciation for being a woman and the freedoms that I'm afforded today because of the women who paved the way for me. Definitely worth checking out and especially since the exhibits change quite frequently.

Lisa M — Google review

First of all, the house itself is really impressive, along with its restoration. When you open the door, take a look at the hinges holding the front door onto the frame. The current exhibitions of "On the Grid" quilts and "My Bed" fiber art were great. The house can hold more pieces than I thought possible. Highly recommended!

Amazing talented artists. I was overwhelmed by techniques, subject of each quilt, silk fabric and total number of exhibit. The museum is a historic home. A grand representation of late 1900 architecture. Staff was friendly and answered questions with pride! Drive from eastside was a pleasant reward.

Joan W — Google review

Recently took a trip to LaConnor and made a stop at the Quilt Museum. I was lucky to arrive here during the Material Men's Quilting Show. What a happy surprise I got! In general, the men's quilting designs are very different from the quilting designs I have always seen. The men's designs seemed to use very bright colors, often had a sense of humor, used pop culture, religion and saw old well-known images in a completely new light. The imagery in the quilts was completely non-traditional, often humorous and sometimes used heavy metal and punk rock designs. I saw portraiture done on quilts using a block technique. I could see that the design represented a face but the portrait only became clear when I looked at it through my camera lens. All these quilts just made me think how differently these men must think then the way I think. These quilts were so creative, so funny and so beautiful. I wasn't sure how entertained I would be coming here but I was greatly surprised. This was a lot of fun.A couple of things should be noted about the Quilt Museum. It is easily found by following the signs in LaConnor pointing you in the right direction. It is in a beautiful 3 story Victorian home. Only open Wednesday thru Sunday 11am - 5pm. Entry is $7 per person unless you are a student or military and it is $5. Parking is on the street except for handicap parking behind the museum. Please keep in mind the age of the building when thinking about handicap access. There is no elevator so handicap full access is 1st floor only. There is a slideshow available of the exhibits on the 2nd & 3rd floors. The staff here are very, very enthusiastic about quilting and are happy to answer any questions. You're even allowed to touch the quilts as long as you touch with your gloved hand. Plastic gloves provided with admission.Overall, my museum trip lasted about 1 1/2 hours and it was very worthwhile. It was fun to see designs that broke my stereotype of quilts. And it was fun to see another example of how men think differently than women!

Kim H — Google review

I didn't realize how amazed I would be! My favorite was a temporary exhibit featuring quilts from Korea and several of them were so mind-blowing! There were lots of other amazing designs. It's all showcased in a 3-story mansion from the 1890's. I would definitely recommend stopping by even if you are not that "crafty."

Visited this beautiful museum today and was completely blown away. Both of my grandmothers were quilters and seeing that this art is still alive and well was good to see. The pieces were beautiful, and the amount of work that you know goes into these pieces makes it even more spectacular.

We haven't had the pleasure of staying in their hotel yet bc I work 7 days a week at night, however, I love their food, their bar, and I never have to wait for a cashier, and they have free soda and coffee which is always great. I can't wait for their Indian Taco stand to open when it gets warmer. We travel just over an hour to go there so we love it when that's open! They have lots of slots there is always a lot of choices and their loyalty program is the best of any casino we go to. We really enjoy going there and soon we will be able to take advantage of room rates we get from our loyalty card as soon as I start my new job and have days off. Oh the gift shop has an amazing selection of jewelry and purses for the women who love to shop!

It's okay. Rooms are pretty decent. No bathtub, just shower. I would stay again. It is really hard to spend time on the gaming floor because it is smoking. I would have played longer but the smoke was so bad. I can smell it on my clothes and hair after leaving casino. If I end up back here I would stick to room. No swimming pool. Couldn't smell smoke in room upon entering. Not far from ferry. This place has potential. I would come more often if it was non smoking for sure.

We went out with two other couples and decided to spend the night here Saturday September 16th and the Sunday September 17th. First of all rooms are decent clean nice but not $297 a night nice that price is absolutely insane but I'm sure that they know they're the only thing out in this area. Check in was fine, folks at the front desk were great no issues with the room whatsoever. The casino floor on a Saturday night just no excitement no pulse nothing the entire night. You didnt hear any Jackpots ringing off here at all and every single live table was either empty or on its way to being empty. The minimums that they put at these tables are ridiculous. You don't have anybody and I mean literally anybody sitting at any table that you have on a Saturday night and you won't lower the table minimum just to get people to come over and sit down? Absolutely insane that they're training a dealer on how to shuffle cards in the middle of a shift on a Saturday night?? I lived in Vegas I know what casino life looks like and this was atrocious and not it. I did not feel lucky I did not feel like I wanted to gamble I didn't feel excited I did not feel like people were having a good time. We went to the diner restaurant the first night and had dinner six of us the girl that waited on us fantastic nothing wrong with her. I'll be honest I was a little surprised at the bill when it came. It definitely seemed a little high but not a big deal but the fact that you slipped in a surcharge for our party at 6 at 20% on our ticket without ever telling us not when we were seated not by the waitress nothing. Nobody ever told us, the fact that we picked up on it was as a line item on the bill so not real happy with that. The next day before we check out we go to have breakfast in the exact same diner like I said food's decent little overpriced, the waitress comes around and ask if we needed a minute we said yes we need a minute we're all talking and drinking our coffee waking up normal stuff people do. She comes back around again 5 minutes later and asked if we were ready two of us said no we needed a little more time, her response was I'll get to you to last and started taking orders instead of doing the right thing and giving us more time like we requested.Tje diner maybe 10% full not busy plenty of table available. Did not like that at all rude rushed couldn't believe it. Ordered the steak and eggs steak not that good very dry cooked the way I asked but very dry, once again pop that 20% surcharge on the bill and the hostess never mentioned that and the waitress never mentioned it and nobody ever mentioned it but did slip it in there again not professional at all. I highly doubt I'm going to take the time to catch the ferry across the water and come back to this place again this is the second time that we've been here and I have to say its very unfortunate, they've could have done a lot better in a lot more areas of this place. We love going to resorts we love to gamble and we love having co*cktails and a good night, like I said prior-we lived in Vegas before and we know the casino life and this place seems more like a hit and run then wanting guests to return. I don't think you'll be getting my business here again.

I'm sharing about the restaurant only.Slow service, our waitress could not remember very simple requests, the food was not extraordinary, and took quite sometime to prepare. Making things worse was, we were 2 out of the 10 people in the restaurant.Chicken wings were over done, way over done, and their signature sauce tasted like medicine, not delicious. The Lemon cake French toast was dry and haphazardly thrown together.Overall, not a good experience!

Slots are tight! It’s gambling, I know but I’ve been here a few different times and the slots don’t pay. Very limited table games; I think I saw five to six. Nice property, hotel looks nice from outside, haven’t stayed yet. Walk through main entrance and within seconds my eyes started burning as main entry to casino is smoking area. To rear of casino is non smoking slot area. Did I mention slots don’t pay? Maybe I’ll have better luck on one of their bingo nights. Over all feeling was uncomfortableness. Staff was just okay, not very friendly. I might give it another try; not sure.

Good variety of games. Good payouts. The Players Club has alot of monthly promotions. The resort has very nice rooms and their players club offers monthly promotions and even free rooms. The pool is a great place for the kids & you can reserve the pool area for such things as Birthday Parties.

Room and food was good. Don't play slots. 1500 in 4 hours with no fun. Oh and on a packed Friday night didn't see a single payout. Maybe we will take a free room in the future but better off spending money seeing local area. Area is beautiful. Going to lucky eagle next.

We stayed at the hotel and it was very nice. We were pleasantly surprised. I took off a star because they were difficult to book over the phone and the lady offered to give us a call back but never did. We ended up booking in person.

I have visited most of the casinos in Washington State and The Point is by far my favorite for so many reasons! They always have such a great variety of new machines while still maintaining the older ones as well for us who still enjoy them. They offer various restaurants and dining options including delivery of food and/or drinks straight to you where you are gaming using the slot machine menu which I have not seen anywhere else! If it's late and your still hungry the pizza shop inside is open late and is tasty! Though the hotel rooms are affordable, they still have the comfort, amenities and feel of a room that would be much more expensive (don't get me started on the double shower heads!) The staff in the hotel, cashiers, security guards, players club and even the ones that are constantly sanitizing and cleaning the casino are all so kind, friendly, helpful and always willing to stop to chat if you want but also aware of the gamers who love to not be bothered being discreet and respectful as they clean around them. Now for the MOST important part to most casino patrons. The players clubs perks!! The Point casino by far offers the most and the best benefits to their club members! Free hotel rooms, food vouchers, Freeplay, gift giveaways of quality name brand items are given every week, they also give birthday gifts, ferry fare reimbursem*nt, free shuttles, and so so much more!Long explanation short I love the point and recommend it through and through to everyone who asks which casino is the best. I win the most here, have the best time and feel comfortable and appreciated as a customer and guest by the staff every single time I'm here.Thank you to The Point Casino for truly taking care of your players and to everyone working there for always going above and beyond to ensure people are having a good experience to the best of your ability.

This establishment has truly changed a lot over the years. I've only been through this area a few times these past few years. A long time ago, I used to come through a lot more often. If you're ever in their neck of the woods, I'd advise a visit. Friendly, inviting staff, and a beautiful facility. You'd be very hard-pressed to not have a fun time here, as a responsible adult.

The kitchen restaurant took 53 min. To serve us n one couple gave up n left restaurant. Then it doesn't make much sense that they want a 20% gratuity. Then it took 17 min. To figure out the receipt for 4 couples. We were there for breakfast n it wasn't crowded. I will not be going back to a place that makes me pay a gratuity for lousy service. The food was good. The executive chef is unprofessional in his manner. I just feel I've been ripped off when I tip someone it's b/c they have done a good job. Hotel was great...casino agree with others that it was pretty tight.

Arrival and Check-In- there was no friendly greeting.- guy at the check-in desk seemed bored and uninterested in helping us; he had several apparent issues using the system and voiced his personal frustrations.- he discussed a weird way of asking whether we wanted a 4th floor or 3rd floor room, leaving an apparent question with no information to make a decision, and as I began answer, he interrupted me and explained that the rooms closer to the elevators would be closer to the loud music, so if we wanted quieter, the other room would be better and we went with that.- didn't mention when checkout was.- overall an unfriendly, uninformative and hapless initial experience with this property.- he wasn't rude, just unfriendly.- 2 out of 5Facility Experience- we were thoroughly impressed with the physical aspects of the property itself.- beautiful and quiet. well maintained!- the rooms were so quiet and dark, we overslept our first morning and we have no complaints about that!- showers were amazing and had awesome water pressure.- great shampoos and soaps, really great guys!- 5 out of 5, full marks here.Casino Member Desk- after our late checkout experience, we proceeded to the casino to get new member player's cards.- the man that helped me was frustrated that my out-of-country driver's license did not scan into the computer, so he was compelled to take manual steps and actually TYPE my name and address into the computer.- it was such an inconvenience and frustration that he essentially tossed my wife's drivers license over to the other rep at the desk and said, "can you do this one?" -- because he didn't want the hassle of helping two whole customers.- I mentioned that we came over on the Blackball Coho Ferry at Port Angeles, due to the $35 promo credit on your website.- He never heard of this ferry, confused and very reluctant to process it. Your website says to show our ferry receipt, but doesn't say what ferry providers are specifically included. It is unclear to me as a customer, and unclear to your staff also. Don't make me have to beg for your promos. Train your staff to know better and feel empowered to handle these situations.- He did explain how to claim the credit, with one hour of play and at least $1.00 in play, it should just show up. I never saw a $35 credit. I did see the $5 credit as a new member.- In conclusion the player's member experience was lackluster, frustrating and unfriendly. Plus, the ferry promo credits were not delivered.- Not impressed.- 0 out of 5Casino- The SMOKING section should be accessed BEYOND the non-smoking section. Because, otherwise, what's the freaking point? It's not 1990. As non-smokers, we did not appreciate being forced to trapse through the full smoke filled casino to get "non-smoking" sections. Both restaurants have a strong dose of smoke!- Your casino was wound up so tight after several hours in several sessions, I had dropped about $1300 and maybe had 3 bonuses.- Many of the games do not have progressive jackpots, and the ones that did, I see that the bottom two tiers always reset to fixed dollar amounts (ie $20 and $50). These sneaky tricks reduce the payout odds and stack the deck in the house's favor. It's pathetic because the spin payouts did not seem generous enough to outweigh the lost payback that those jackpots would earn the player.- I can accept that my experience isn't everyone's, but I felt that the slots were way tighter than Vegas.- Staff didn't seem happy, nor super friendly, and in cases seemingly unapproachable. A common trend at this property.- 1 out of 5Overall- Main impression is that management doesn't care about ensuring the staff are well taken care of. Because of that your staff don't take of the customer.- Fix the smoking problems. Yuk.- It's clear that by not taking my phone number or email address when registering for your membership, you have no interest in developing a relationship with your guests.- Overall 2 out of 5. We will not be back and do not recommend.

The rooms are beautiful, modern and clean. We stayed on the top floor close to the entrance and it was very quiet. The beds are comfortable making sleeping easy. We will definitely stay there again. The only drawback is the distance between the parking lot and the entrance.

This place was supper fun I didn’t win any big Jackpots but was able to have a few hours of fun winning a couple hundred here and there unlike the fast suck you dry Emerald casino cant even really stay long enough to be offered a drink before you run out of money there there machines rarely even match the bet placed let alone more then the bet placed

This is my go to casino as it's the closest to my home but it is still quite a trek for me to make. I loved the Point back before they built the current building and hotel. The staff was much friendlier and the jackpots seem to hit much more often. The players club reward program used to be unmatched as far as the benefits that you would receive. Now that the hotel and new building are complete the players club benefits have ridiculous play requirements to attain even the easiest of benefits to give back. You can't even rely on a food voucher anymore for regular basic level club members without having to spend a small fortune. Sad.

I’m not one to write reviews at all but my buddies and I came across the ferry on our bikes because we had heard good things about the point casino. We got there walked around and grabbed some drinks. Seems like a super cool environment. Decent prices on drinks, although one side of the bar the drinks were $3 and on the other side the exact same ones were $6. Not sure what was going on there. Walked around the casino only to find it was mainly slots. They had 6Ish different table games but only one blackjack table. Which was packed the whole time while all the others were empty. The dealer we sat down with was cool however, within the first few hands my friend got blackjack while the dealer was showing a 10. He paid my buddy out before checking his own hand in which he had blackjack. The casino manager came and took his money back. Simple mistake no big deal right. That is until I go over to roulette and place a large bet on red odd. I get paid out and then on the next spin the manager comes and says she overpaid me and takes the chips back. Then back onto the blackjack table where two more times I was overpaid on the side bets (without realizing), and several hands later they came up to me and took back their chips. Absolutely ridiculous, they need to train their staff, and if they overpay on stuff, need to count it as a loss to their casino. This also happened to several of my other buddies on different games. They really need to get this in check. They were also hand shuffling the cars the entire time in blackjack, and one dealer told me the shuffling machine was broken and the next one said that’s not true and the casino doesn’t have enough cards. This made me feel that I was getting scammed the entire time as I put hundreds down throughout the night on the same deck of cards that they never swapped out and seemed to also never get higher cards than the dealer. Super scammy casino and SERIOUSLY wouldn’t recommend the point casino and hotel to anyone looking for a good casino.

My experience here was at Kloomachan kitchen. I ordered 2 plain cheeseburgers with fries. The girl on the phone repeated back that my burgers would be plain. I then waited over 30 minutes for the burgers to come out. When I received them, they were packed with all the toppings. I took them anyway since I didn't want to wait any longer. The customer service was good, that's why 3 stars instead of 1.

Updated review was at the Point this weekend. So much better, service was wonderful, the food and music was wonderful and there was a few machines that would let you play for awhile. Had an absolute wonderful time looking forward to outdoor music this summer.

We lost but was still fun. Not as big as I thought it would be but his games. We only played slots. You can still smoke in this casino and they do have a non smoking section when you first walk in. Would go again. They are open 24 hours to.

I like the table games here. It is more relax and friendly than Clear Water Casino near by. They are very generous about their comp too. Too bad they only have 10 tables.

Richard B — Google review

Good prices, friendly staff and generally nice casino. We unfortunately encountered tables games opening late and closing early. We were surprised to get booted off a roulette table so it could close early. Craps closed very early (1hr ish). We knew going in they closed tables by 2am on the weekends and were prepared for this. But the automated/slot roulette was not there despite being advertised on their website. We paid 350$ for the corner suite and the jet tub had someone else hair as well which was pretty gross but the rest of the room was clean. We drove an hour n a half to try a new casino, and unfortunately, we won’t be back. Availability of table games was our main issue.

Angela C — Google review

The Point recently renovated their hotel rooms and they are really nice. I love the newer bathrooms. The casino is pretty nice, it’s not a huge casino but there’s plenty of space and slot machines! The people at the tables are always very kind and helpful especially when you are learning how to play! It is my favorite place to go win.

Christine B — Google review

It was the first time my husband and I stayed here. The hotel was better than we expected with good amenities and a very nice layout. The casino ruined it all. We were losing which we are ok with, it happens more often than not in casinos. But when we ordered more drinks we were told we were reported as being BELIGERANT and were not to be served.I don't care about being cut off, even though we only had like 4 drinks and were no where close to being intoxicated. AND we were staying at the hotel so we were looking forward to having fun and staying here. My problem is being called belligerent. I have never in my whole life been that. I asked to talk to a manager and when he came I asked if we could see the video footage of what necessitated this determination. He said no footage is available for us to review. I suggested he review it and use it to retrain his staff. Thanks to this insulting misunderstanding they are losing good customers; we will never return.

Went to The Point for their all you can eat fresh Dungeness crab dinner tonight.I even called ahead to ask if the crab was fresh. Was assured yes. Ok. I'm in! Well, it was terrible! First off take a look at the picture. The crab meat was brown, not white. It tasted like it was boiled in a weak Cajun flavored broth. Why? Fresh crab is white, juicy, sweet. It should taste like the Puget Sound, sweet and salty. Mother Nature created the most perfect flavor for crab. Why override nature's gift with excessive seasoning? What were you thinking? On an up note, the asparagus served with it was perfect. Soft with a little resistanceAnd lovely multi colored baby potatoesAgain, cooked perfectly. Both were better than the crab. Not worth the $40 bucks.

I’m only sharing about our experience at the casino! I haven’t stayed in the hotel yet. It was my first time visiting and playing at this casino and I had nothing but a 10/10 experience. We first walked in this morning and the ladies at the front desk were so kind and helpful and gave us dining credits! I loved the overall hospitality and friendliness. We also ended up winning a little bit which was nice ;$) we had just stopped in for a little day trip from Seattle. I will definitely be coming back!!

Nature preserve

Nature & Parks

The Bloedel Reserve is a sprawling nature preserve that spans 150 acres and boasts forests, landscaped gardens, and a reflection pool. Its well-designed walkways provide ample opportunity to appreciate the horticulture and design of the park. The park is particularly stunning in rainy weather, as the various shades of green stand out vividly. Visitors can tour the Bloedel residence, which includes bathrooms and an impressive art collection. A gift shop at the gatehouse offers further opportunities for exploration.

The trails are beautifully done. Easy to walk paths through fields, forest, and around ponds. So many different plants that look different every time I go. Many benches that invite you to stop and enjoy the view. I highly recommend you go every season to see the wonderful changes in the gardens and paths.

Nice place to catch fall colors, not so much for flowers, though. When I came on a weekend, there was not many people. I had the place with my friends.Had to buy tickets ahead of time. They do not sell at the door. $20 per person. When you get there, you have to stop at this sign, and the staff comes out and ask for your name to check against their printed list. My name wasn't on it since I bought my tickets 30 minutes ahead of time, but I did have a confirmation email. You can spend as little as an hour or as much as three hours here. There are many paths. This is a nice nature/garden walk. Most of it was relatively flat . No mosquitoes despite many ponds.Overall, it is a fairly well marked and nicely maintained trails. The only animals I saw were ducks.I found restrooms in the visitor center (entrance) and at the mansion. The visitor center is a gift shop that sells postcards, chocolate, and small snacks.

Make sure to reserve your tickets. If you don’t they may act snooty and tell you to come back later after booking online. We were told it was sold out but then immediately booked tickets online. The property itself is gorgeous and well maintained. $22/person is a bit pricey for this experience but if you are visiting the island it’s a nice experience

Stunning public gardens that are definitely worth visiting. It was pretty much empty when we came on the weekend. It takes about 2 hours to slowly stroll through all the different gardens. The property itself is also stunning and has a room dedicated to the history of the house.I’ve seen several reviews suggesting picnicking on the lawns, but for what it’s worth the website says that’s not allowed.

The park and the trails are well maintained, but be aware that trails are not stroller friendly. My favorite parts were the reflection pond and Japanese garden. But I was left with a bad experience by turning us back at the gate for having my small dog in the car. We were asked to park the car outside the property and walk in. I understand the reason for not allowing any pets in the park, but not letting them be in the car in the parking lot felt heavy-handed (gave me colonial vibes).

Our visit to the reserve was very memorable. We were fortunate with the weather, allowing us to enjoy the tour fully. I recommend buying tickets in advance and arriving as early as possible. Every section of the reserve was well thought out. The textures of the trees, with the perfect amount of moss and fern, made it resemble a rainforest. The Japanese section was particularly beautiful, with maple trees and cherry blossoms in bloom. The first floor of the residence was open to the public, and the view of the Puget Sound from there was breathtaking. Few trees were a few hundred years old and they were beautiful!

I'm not necessarily a huge hiking outdoorsy person, by native PNW standards. Love a beach and a nice day in the sun but I would rather see some art than go to a park. Context to say, if you visit Bainbridge Island this is a MUST DO. Easy walk. Relatively flat 2 miles of just stunning sensory experience for the spring and summer. The most memorable parts were the wild flower grassland—the whole place smelled like honey, I wish they sold it! + the Japanese house and mansion.Would return. Great way to spend 3 hours or so on a day trip then go have dinner or get on the water. Very memorable vs just going shopping or something. Worth your time.

Beautiful grounds! We had to reserve tickets online. Once we got there, we loved the short stroll! The map was a little confusing to us, but it wasn’t hard to just enjoy the view! I had two teen kids with us and 6 adults and we all enjoyed it! Some of the ponds had really cool tree frogs too!

Gorgeous reserve! Ticketing was a bit confusing since we didn't plan to go here but passed by and the sign said we needed tickets booked online. However data is a bit slow in the area and they are aware, so you can go into the toll booth/gate and ask for/get a plastic card with wifi password on it, park inside temporarily, buy tickets online, then return the card to the toll booth then explore the reserve!I wish I took more photos but at the same time it was so beautiful there that we were completely immersed in the experience for the most part. Very beautiful park and views, extremely well maintained!

The Bloedel Reserve is amazing! Its incomparable beauty will leave you with a lasting impression. From the natural, open entry to the Reflection Pool, and through the moss garden, you'll want to be immersed all day in these spaces. Take your time. Enjoy the serenity of its many water features and the tranquility of the Japanese garden. I love this place and highly recommend a visit if you're going to be on Bainbridge Island. I visited on 3/9/24. It was a rainy day but still an amazing visit!

Bloedel Reserve is magical. Gorgeous views, secluded, peaceful, and full of lovely local history. An easy walk throughout but lots of variance in views and scenery. So many beautiful ponds, trees and flowers. We bought a year membership after our first visit because it is definitely a place we will visit multiple times in the year and get our money's work. I can't wait to come back again in the winter and then again in the spring. Definitely going to be bringing a picnic next time.

Gorgeous reserve. Exceptionally beautiful during autumn to see color changes of foliage. A bit of wildlife can be observed while walking the grounds. Buy tickets before hand. You must arrive writing a certain time frame or else you’ll have to wait until you window is nearer to enter the reserve. A fair amount of walking but easy to do and lots odd places to stop, rest, take in the scenery. Many different areas to enjoy within the reserve. The Bloedel home is open to view their living spaces inside. Helpful staff inside the house to answer questions. A gift shop is located at the entrance with unique jewelry, crafts, dishwater, books, blankets, and more. Restrooms also available at the entrance and inside the home. A wonderful way to spend a morning or afternoon.

Came on a Friday at about 1pm, not very busy. I think they do a great job of staggering people so it doesn't feel crowded. Very scenic, beautiful property. They're was a bus stop not very far from the entrance, which is great for those who are visiting the island by foot.

We came on a Friday afternoon so it was very easy to get in, but reservations are recommended on the weekend. This is a beautiful place with lots of history, give yourself a couple of hours to walk through and learn about the Bloedel family and their dedication to nature preservation. The tour is self guided and there is minimal signage, which is intentional. Enjoy the grounds!

This garden is beautiful in the fall. A nice walk to see a house like Pemberly with a variety of gardens but my favorite is the Japanese garden. There's an overlook of the Sound. Nice little shop with art, jewelry, gloves and umbrellas in case you forgot.Be aware: they close at 4 but won't let anyone in after 2:30. So don't be late!!! We came late and had to beg based on the drive time to get there for mercy. They were kind enough to agree, but you could tell they didn't really want to and were just too polite to argue. We were able to walk most of it in about 45 minutes, but if you do want to linger and see the whole thing it will probably take you about an hour and a half to do it justice.I'd like to come back in spring to see the flowers bloom here too.

Specialty Museums

The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art is a privately owned museum that offers rotating exhibits with a special focus on works by local artists. The museum features two floors of exhibition space, a cafe at the back, and a gift shop on the ground floor with lovely gift options for visitors. One exhibit showcased the internment experience of Japanese residents during WWII and was well received. Another exhibit featured the Heroes collection by Cory Bennett Anderson that covered the entire first floor.

A free private museum that only asks for donations on entry. There is a cafe at the rear and two floors of exhibition space. When I went they had an exhibition on Japanese residents experience being interned during WWII which was very well done. There is also a shop on the ground floor with some nice gift options. Definitely worth a visit to the museum.

I LOVE coming here. It's free admission, but they take donations via cash or card. They always have different local artists displaying their work, and all of their work has been phenomenal. The work they display is emotionally impacting and even though it's a small museum, the work they display is intriguing enough to where I've spent a good amount of time reading about their work. The people that work at the museum have a lot of knowledge about the artists as well, which is great since they helped provide insight on the artists' work.

Although relatively small, entrance is free! Artworks are awesome and unique, a lot of mixed media pieces. It is located right in front of the ferry terminal road.

Nice little museum. They rotate their exhibitions three times a year, so you'll see different ones every time you go.

What an amazing museum... and free! This museum was much much better than I was expecting. Beautiful displays of all types of art. Very well taken care of building and restrooms, and very courteous staff. This is a must see if you are in the area.

It is a museum with very good architecture, it is completely free. I liked the layout of each exhibition room. Every year they put on new exhibitions according to the season or a particular artist. and at the end it has its gift shop.

EXCELLENT ATTRACTION TUCKED AWAY ON AN ISLANDI was only going to take the ferry from Seattle and back again, but thought I'd not waste the trip and spend the time between ferries wandering around Bainbridge Island. My first stop, after walking up from the ferry, was this place. It's perfectly located to catch your attention, then having free/donation entry meant that frugal me had to pop in and have a look.I'm glad I did. It's an eclectic mix in a beautiful building and the gift shop is worth a browse.

This museum was so great! I'm so glad we stopped in during our day on Bainbridge. My partner is colorblind and when we walked in, we saw a sign advertising their free color blind corrective glasses rental program for folks who wish to use it during their visit. I've been to many art museums but have never seen this offered! I was blown away by the thoughtfulness. My partner got to see everything in vivid color for the first time! We were happy to explore the 2 floors, and while it was a fairly small museum, everything was really nicely curated and we spent a solid 1.5 hours or so looking at everything. There is even a cute cafe (though we didn't try anything) and it's located next door to a brewery that seemed popular. There was a parking lot available behind the museum, which was a relief given how busy street parking was!

Cool exhibits - partial on first floor, then on second. Donation based (no set price for entry) Cute shop too! Would recommend when visiting Bainbridge, close to ferry terminal & going downtown.

Amazing art museum. It was a unique experience for us. Although the entry is free, donations are welcome. I found about few artists which were new to me. Great work.

Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) has fabulous exhibits that are free to the public. They also have an auditorium that you can book for events. Our bicycle advocacy nonprofit, Squeaky Wheels, recently hosted an author event w/ Seattle Bike Blogger, Tom Fucoloro and his new book Biking Uphill In The Rain. Cole, our BIMA rep, had everything ready and took care of everything we needed. The event ran seamlessly.

Absolutely stunning space and ambiance. Friendly staff. Free entrance but donations encouraged... easy to donate with cash or card at the desk, but not a heavy sell.

What a magical place! I am visiting Seattle from NYC on a budget, and this was one of my favorite activities. As a free/donation-based museum, I was pleasantly surprised by the vast, wonderful, and diverse collection of local artists. There are lots of beautiful and thought-provoking pieces of different mediums that take you on a range of thought + sensory journeys as you wander through. I particularly loved the art commenting on the effect we’ve had on nature and our connection with it. The book-making room was also very cool and unique, I spent so much time in there trying to read each intricate little piece! The museum is very well kept with nice bathrooms and great staff. There is also a lovely rooftop garden to soak up the sun. I am looking forward to coming back on my next trip to the PNW!
